the mega man games. they are a bit different than the nes versions.

he already got Link's Awakening. But co-sign on the MM ports. They are different. But the same. Y'dig?
Noiseredux I would have never guessed you like MM games based off your avatar. Don't forget mega man xtreme. It does the same as the GB MM but with MMX on GBC (with limited saving).

hahaha good call. You caught me honing in on two of my favorite topics: MM and GB. At any rate, I've been looking for a copy of MMXtreme for a while now actually! I think the first one is a remake of MMX1 and then the rest are "remixes," right?

by the way, I'd also suggest the Donkey Kong Land games for GB. They are really sort of amazing how much they play like the SNES games. Very impressive for our little handheld that could.

Awesome, thanks for the additional suggestions (and for the link to that other recommendation thread - I used the forum search but somehow missed that one).

The want list is growing... luckily most of these games can be found very cheap if you have some patience and are willing to search for them. Hard to believe that people are parting with these increasingly tough to find classics for so little, but their loss is my gain!

If your going to get any of the gameboy megamans go for Megaman V first. Its the best one, has all new bosses, ect. I picked up one with a near flawless label and I couldn't be happier.

MrPopo wrote:I would recommend the Dragon Warrior Monsters games. They're a different take on the monster catching genre where you get a party of three and monster breeding is pretty huge (not the pokemon "get better stats" style but instead you use it to get more monsters).
I definitely second this. DWM 1 and 2 [both versions of DWM2] are awesome games. You'll have a great time just exploring them. The gameplay is classic DW, but the monster collection adds another level of fun to it.
