How do you use two hands when using the touch screen?

Funny, I feel the same way about you. And I'll prove it.I'm saying you're talking out of your backside.
Yes, you do. The vast majority of DS games do actually use the touch screen, surprise surprise. You don't play the DS with one hand...
I assume you've got numbers to back that up. And let's not confuse "use" with "require" and also be aware of the degree of use. Let me throw out a few examples:NeoTechni wrote:Yes, you do. The vast majority of DS games do actually use the touch screen, surprise surprise.
Cubic doesn't matter in this instance. Fully half of the DS's cubic is in the top screen, which floats above the part you're actually manipulating. So the DS ends up having a smaller helft to it. Or to compare it with something else, let's compare the GBA original with the GBC. Both have approximately the same cubic (very rough estimate based on eyeballing). But since the GBA is held landscape vs. the GBC being held portrait you end up with the GBC being smaller than the GBA in the part that matters.PSP 170mm x 74mm x 23mm = 289340 cubic mm
DS 148.7 mm x 84.7 mm x 28.9 mm = 363992.321 cubic mm
You didn't use numbers when you made the opposite claim, why are you now demanding them from me? I don't like hypocrisy.MrPopo wrote:I assume you've got numbers to back that up.NeoTechni wrote:Yes, you do. The vast majority of DS games do actually use the touch screen, surprise surprise.
Yes, it does. Size = volume not surface area.Cubic doesn't matter in this instance.

I did not make the opposite claim. I questioned your claim. There's a difference. I also pointed out that use of the touch screen does not automatically mean that you have to play one-handed. And you clearly don't understand the purpose of having two screens if you think that all they do is get added together and compare with the PSP screen. Having a second screen gives you a separate logical area for the display. Some games will simply mush the two screens together, like Metroid Prime Pinball. Others use the second screen for information, such as Castlevania.NeoTechni wrote:You didn't use numbers when you made the opposite claim, why are you now demanding them from me? I can logically claim most games use the touch screen because it is DS's only defining characteristic that separates it from PSP. It's not having dual screens since they add up to a resolution smaller than PSP's one screen.
Once again, you missed my point. As I brought attention to in the GBC vs. GBA, the layout matters more for apparent size than the cubic. Let's say I made a PSP that was twice as wide, but had the same cubic as a regular PSP (so it would be thinner to compensate). You would rightly call my PSP:W bigger than the regular PSP.Yes, it does. Size = volume not surface area.Cubic doesn't matter in this instance.
Ah, I didn't realize there were 2 people. I don't pay attention to namesMrPopo wrote: I did not make the opposite claim.
No. My point is everything that you can do on 2 small screens can be done on one of equal or larger resolution. You can easily split PSPs screen into 2 different ones and many games do so. Games never needed 2 separate displays to do split screen multiplayer, maps/radars before. And you clearly don't understand the purpose of having two screens if you think that all they do is get added together and compare with the PSP screen. No, you're arguing with the definition of size.Once again, you missed my point.
