Hey fox, back when I was 19 (which now feels like too long ago), the same exact thing happened to me. I had a four year relationship ended by a drunken hookup with my "best friend" while I was at work.

While it was devastating at the time, it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me.

I'm currently going through a very similar thing only it's with my wife of 10 years who I dated for 5 years before we got married. She decided she wanted to move out, get laid by lots of people, lose her great job and become a person dependent upon government handouts so that she could "find happiness"; hasn't happened. In the end she drug me and my two daughters down with her and we're all dealing with the ramnifications as she continues to try and find happiness. She's filing for divorce and I'm expecting it to happen soon.

When I first heard about it I felt like you; nothing mattered and everything was messed up. I lost my job as well and spent months hating everybody and everything. I did find God again and it has helped but eventually it was just me deciding that I'm a good person and someone needs to take care of our two beautiful girls (6 & 3). There are still tough times and there probably will be for a long time; holidays are the worst. In essence, I found out what my priorities are and while I still care about my wife I can't continue on in her life or let my kids get wrapped up in it. I also learned how to cook and live on my own.

Most women are truly treacherous curs and we allow them to make us think that we are the problem when it's usually them.

I would advise that you take this time to discover those things that are really important to you. Surround yourself with good people and learn to take each day as they come. There are no guarantees.

Most people are treacherous curs. Everyone gets fucked over from time to time, by members of either sex.

That's life. "Bros before hoes" is a nice saying, but it never works that way. Most of us have been through something like this.

You just gotta man up, get over it, and move on.

When I look back on all of my gfs and girls I've been with (I wasn't always a good Christian...), I have to agree with you here. Even when I wasn't "a good Christian", all that means is that I enjoyed having a gf and all that went with it. I was never the type of guy to pull girls from the bar just for an 1NS or whatever. Yet, I definitely had more girls cheat on me than not. Then again, are the majority of guys any better?

Just be careful of the whole drugs and alcohol scene. A similar thing happened to my brother and he ended up a drug addicted alcoholic. Really messed him up. I say keep doing what you've always been doing and realize that in time things will get better.
