Sorry for your lost man and especially in those circumstances. But when my G/F of 4 years left me I didn't know what to do so I trapped myself in my room to ponder about things and I eventually drove myself crazy. I stopped taking care of myself, hanging with friends, etc. Then one day I just said "fuck it" and started going out again. Hanging with my friends, finding new interest etc etc. I also tried to put her out of my mind as much as possible, and if I did think about her I stopped pondering and just stopped caring. Like what most has said just go out and do what you normally do or atleast try to find new interest or people to keep your mind occupied. Best of luck to you.

My girlfriend left me two weeks ago for my best friend Mike. This was after we had a fight two weeks before that where she kissed him at a party and we took some time apart to figure out what we wanted and where we are going.
My advice to you would all depend on how old you are. I checked your profile, but didn't see your age.

My opinion on the matter doesn't change with your age though, Mike was not your best friend.

Fox. Exercise and watch lots of porn. Within 2-4 months you should be good to go. Do you have local friends? Are you of legal drinking age?
Do not do this - this is what sends you down a hill of disappointment, not to mention hurt - not only towards yourself, but others. And plus, that's boring. Got anything better to do?

You have a problem with getting exercise? :?

Maybe he is against exercise that involves going down hill that could hurt him, and others.

Anyway, sorry to hear that. Try to feel better. After all, it is the holidays, just try to relax and enjoy yourself. Maybe spend some time with your family and friends. Remember, life goes on.

I don't want to make this a debate, but just like the one person recommended against a regimen of porn, drinking, and exercise, I want to recommend against prayer and/or religion as a way to cope with this.

In my view, many people will often turn to religion in tough times because it is a way to make sense of hard to understand things. The world is against them and putting God at the center is a way to restore order. I've seen that too often, though, this mentality becomes a life crutch. If you go the religious route, don't use it as a way to determine the amount of personal responsibility for your own past and/or as a framework for making all your future decisions. Praying that things will get better won't make them so...

Hey, don't listen to these guys that are telling you to resort to free sex or pornography. That stuff only leads to more emptiness. Just take it day by day. Enjoy the company of your friends and family, get in touch with some old friends. I am a Christian myself, so I do believe that if you turn to God, he will help you, but if you don't want to listen to that, then listen to my other advice. Sex and porn will not help. That stuff just adds shame and more emptiness to your pain. Spend some time with some good friends and family, and try to forgive your old girlfriend and your friend. Even if they do not deserve it, holding a grudge only hurts you. And hey man, we're here for you at Racketboy. We care about each other here.
