Re: Your Videogame Theater

Post by fastbilly1 »

My home theater was taken over by drums thanks to my little brother moving in. So for now the setup is squeezed into my office (along with all my other hobbies). And right now I am on a heavy PC gaming setup - so many titles so little time:
- Gaming PC - 2 15inch crt monitors - Q6600, 4 gigs of ram, 9600 gt (Im a Quake gamer so its lasted me two years and Ill get another two out of it).
- Old Home Theater Shuttle - 1 15inch crt - 1.8ghz Athalon, 2 gigs of ram, fx5700
- Nettop - 1 15inch crt - KVM with Shuttle - 1.6 ghz dual core atom, 2 gigs of ram, gma 950
- DOS computer (ok Win98se) - 533mhz celeron, 192megs of ram, 2mb Rage FX
- Imac G3 - blue - currently borked trying to figure it out. I think it is the 300mhz with 196 megs of ram. Ideally itll run ubuntu or os9 (osx runs like a dog on it for obvious reasons)
- 14 inch Amiga Monitor - Currently N64 and SNES

Im going to upgrade the monitors early next year, if I get a bigger desk I already have 3 22 inch crts in the wings...I play most games at the lowest setttings so I can get the best FPS - Like I said, Quake, but I am waiting on Windows 7 to flushout. Im thinking 19inch lcd and a 32inch lcd tv (I already have a 27 and 32 inch tv sitting in the corner but since the home theater and storage area are full of drums and camera equipment they are unloved.

Yukima, how is your PS2 modded?

Well, I'm the only dude with an Apple 2, N-gage, or NGPC so far, but I kinda feel ashamed I don't have a SNES or NES

I actually bought the PS2 pre-modded from a website in Canada, not sure what chip was installed (probably a Modbo 4.0 or something similar). It works pretty well, but it scratches every disc it plays, so I pretty much have to play only backups in it so my original discs won't get killed

And actually, I didn't have an NES until about 2 weeks ago when I found one in the local retro game shop. My SNES, however, I had since I was 12.

I might actually have a full-fledged game room in the next few months, because we're currently remodeling the house and are converting the attic into another room - my brother and I are already planning to put a TV up there and move the Wii and some other consoles there.

BlackDS I thought this was about what we have out right now - my Apple ][+ is in storage. Once I get a bigger place/little brother moves out, itll be out on display.

Ever changing, but as of now it's:

30-something Sharp LCD w/ PC, 360 and DTA box (This is my rommmates TV, but he is moving out this month, so it's back the the Samsung 27" HD CRT)

36" Sony CRT w/ 2600, Genesis, Duo, Saturn, PS2, DC, Gamecube (+ VCR and LD)

All audio goes through Pioneer receiver.

Pic's ftw!

Hey guys

I have a 42 inch HDTV with 2 x HDMI - its a phillips and should be upgraded shortly.
I have a PS3, X360 and 2 x Dreamcasts hooked up to it. I also have my other consoles:

2 x Saturn
1 x 3DO
mega CD and 32X
NGPC
4 x Virtual Boys
DS Lite
PC

In terms of sound i have a Harmon KArdon 240 7.1 Amp.
SPeakers are Infinity Modulous I - which include 15KG woofer which is very good.

i have just recently changed my centre speaker to an Infinity Cascade centre (around 8.2kg i think) - this isnt pictured but it makes a LOT of difference.

Looking to put in a 55inch LCD LED TV maybe next year..

27" RCA HDTV- I have it hooked up with a 7.1 surround sound. Its currently hooked with a Xbox 360, Sega Saturn, and PS2

I might connect my Dreamcast to VGA on my new LCD monitor. The rest of my systems are sitting on the floor in my room unplugged because I got a 40" LCD for the living room and it doesn't have any composite inputs and I don't own any component cables. I also have a unplugged 25" RCA tv, so I'll use that for the rest of my systems.
Systems: Sega Dreamcast(x2), Sega Genesis(x2), Sega Saturn, Sega CD, Genmobile (portable Genesis), FC Twin, PSX, PS2(x2), GBA, SP, Xbox 360, N64, Showcase Arcade
