So many good episodes, I know Scorpio and the Monoral have already been mention and those are great. A few more of my favorites have to include Flaming Moes, Mr. Plow, Colonel Homer, King Sized Homer and I have to include Homer's Phobia which has one of my favorite Homer Simpson quotes.

Homer: Marge, the boy was wearing a Hawaiian shirt!
Marge: So?
Homer: There’s only two kind of guys who wear those shirts: gay guys and big, fat party animals, and Bart doesn’t look like a big, fat party animal to me!
Marge: So, if you wore a Hawaiian shirt, it wouldn’t be gay?
Homer: Right! Thank you

This right here is a Simpsons moment I haven't seen in a while but still makes me laugh every time I watch it.

Homer: So what do you think Marge, all I need now is a title. I was thinking of calling it "No beer and no TV make Homer, something something......"
Marge: Go crazy?
Homer: DON'T MIND IF I DO!!!! AAUUUAAUUUGGHHHH!!!!

Well, definitely give kudos to Matt G. and the production team that kept the series running. The Simpsons is definitely one of American icons, which I personally think that South Park or Family Guy would be able to achieve (I maybe wrong).

I definitely like the first decade of the Simpsons, and I would say the death of Phil Hartman was a watershed moment, as it was the end of his characters that were really funny. The lost of Conan O'Brien as a scriptwriter is also quite significant for the series.

I'm not sure how much credit Matt Groening deserves. The old Tracey Ullman shorts were not particularly funny, in my opinion. The series itself didn't really get good until the third season. It seems to me that the series got better as he got less involved.

I've never found Life in Hell to be particularly amusing, either.

Matt Groening deserves alot of credit because of how he runs the show. He has stated several times that the Simpsons will go on until the main crew of voice actors stop having fun making it. Now that was not the case with a couple of his other ones, but he seems to have gotten it right with this one.

The Simpsons is a very interesting case study if you ever look at it. It is one of the few comedy shows that has lasted long enough that the current writers are people who grew up watching it. Which explains why the show went down in the 13-17 seasons and has recently become much better.

I think quite honestly they should end the show or do something to change the characters permantly to give the writers something new to go off of. Like when they killed off Maude. It's getting to the point where the some episodes just cancel out older ones.

"I'm looking at you 90s spoof episode when Homer was in a grunge band!"
