I just can't believe you would ask a question, get fabulous advice (with pictures no less) and ignore said advice.

I have had this exact problem and I would suggest following Hobie-Wan's directions b/c they could not be more perfect. The loose screw method is worthless, if you haven't already, take the NES apart and just slip the black edge under the lip of the board like Hobie-Wan's directions tell you to.

This is great advice, it was not in any instructions I could find thank you very much for helping me out too. Thanks to you guys I can finally say that after tomorrow morning when I fix that problem on my NES it will be my first successful repair. YEAH!
