I liked Twilight Princess. I think it followed the Zelda format just fine. I hear so many bizarre complaints. Like it is too much action and not enough puzzles like the old ones when people used to complain that there was too much puzzles and not enough action in the old ones. Or that the ability to warp makes the game cheesy as it makes it too easy for Link to get around while people used to complain so much about having to constantly cross Hyrule Field or the Sea (even after obtaining Epona or the ability to warp). Just nitpicking.

As for Nintendo having settled into a style. I think it could be argued that the Windwaker, PH, and ST style is relatively new and that most of the games have actually had the more serious, less cartoonish style. I have never played any of the handheld games because I don't have any handhelds so I will not get ST for that reason, but I loved Twilight Princess and will surely love the next console Zelda game. Some argue it is just because it is a Zelda game so that is why I will love it. Well, yeah. I like Zelda games. I like the characters, I like the places, and I like the style. So the new Zelda game will come out featuring a left-handed (maybe right on the Wii) hero who gets a special sword and attempts to stop an entity of pure evil (probably Ganondorf or Ganon or both) from taking over peaceful Hyrule. This is the Zelda format and Link will face many puzzles and many enemies (old and new) while relying on new friends and utilizing some new unique tool (ocarina, conductor's wand, or the ability to transform into a wolf) as well as a lot of trusty old ones in order to triumph.

I love me some Zelda.

Wait.
Explain this for me would you?
It's probably just me personally, but Twilight Princess was the first Zelda I couldn't bring myself to finish even once. After that, I lost interest in just about every Zelda.

Dunno why I got bored with it so fast, but I did. I guess everyone has to grow out of things at some point. It did follow the Zelda formula extremely well, but I think that's exactly the point. I'm tired of the same old formula. I desperately crave something new

I really enjoyed Twilight Princess. Maybe I'm just a brainwashed young gamer or the game's just a love or hate deal.

Hehe, I am 28 so it must not have to do too much with age.

I couldn't play either Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask for more than an hour or two without getting bored or annoyed with the camera. I did enjoy Link's Awakening on gameboy although it took me two tries before I got hooked. Haven't played any of the other zelda games. Then again I'm not a zelda fan.

Yeah- i think zelda is just one of those games people outgrow eventually because the franchise doesn't really grow.

In my humble opinion though- the jumps in graphics held my attention. Then the content and polish did for a while, but now i feel like the polish is getting more and more dumbed down. I get that windwaker was good. You don't have to make the same game 2 more ways on the DS to prove that to me.

When i got the hookshot when it was brand new in Link to the past i was thrilled. Now 10 years later when i get the hookshot in a game it is just a tool i need to get across some stupid shit i saw a few screens back.

i feel similarly to the way most of you guys feel, the thing is though, i will still buy it, its zelda, so i will give it a chance, if it ends up disappointing at least the trade in value will be pretty high because its a first party nintendo game...overall though, i dont even know what the game is about...thats how uninterested I am

Let me guess, you didn't play it when it first came out? Therefore your opinion is nil.

really mature.

anyway I was too bored of TP because it was the SAME ITEMS the SAME PUZZLES the SAME CHARACTERS over and over and over and over again. It was sooo boring. Also I loved the cell shaded zelda games. I liked PH I loved WW (my favorite zelda after link's awakening). also the wii mote controls didn't help
