Here's another question: Why does it matter at all?

It matters because why do people put him up on a pedalstool like he's the second coming he is just a man, not a god. Its not his fault people are just crazy. People just think to much about race. I live in Decatur, GA its to the right of Atlanta. Could someone tell me why there is 20 different Obama stores here?
I am in an interracial relationship and I don't want my kids labeled. I am going to raise my kids to rely on people by merits not ethinticity.
But what has Obama done, nothing yet besides being born who he is. I feel sorry for the guy, people have so much expectations for him. If he doesn't let the nation fall a part I will think his presidency a succsess. After Bush that would be just fine with me.

Not necessarily.
Furthermore, in whisky tasting circles, some experts bring down the alcoholic strength of their whisky from 40% and above to around half that strength with still mineral water. Their reason is that the addition of water can actually enhance the spirit because it changes the molecular structure of the whisky and may bring out some entirely new flavours and levels of complexity hitherto hidden. An oft-heard analogy in whisky tasting circles is that of sniffing a rose after a shower of rain, where the water may enhance the flower’s bouquet.

I wish this just didn't happen.
I like how you imply that anyone who might be critical of him is a racist.
Shut up, racist.
Exactly my point.

My only opinion on it is you can't hold anything against Obama for it... he didn't nominate or select himself... the commitee did... and to turn that down is just rude.

But as Obama said... to paraphrase CNN:
In comments at the White House on Friday, Obama said he did not view the award "as a recognition of my own accomplishments. But rather as an affirmation of American leadership. ... I will accept this award as a call to action."
At least he understands what it is the Nobel is, and pretty much has a good idea of the intent of him receiving one is. For which I think is admirable, and I hope he follows through.

I too believe it's a call to action, or a symbol to just stop the whole post partisan nonsense and other bullshit flying around the guy because everyone wants to bitch about this and that which is of no consequence to what REALLY should be taken care of.

That is not what I am saying at all. I agree with everyone here that I don't really think Obama deserved the nobel peace prize, but I don't think he should be criticized just because he was selected for it.

As for the racist thing, when the Tea Party marched downtown in DC I went and interviewed about 100 people there and every single for one their answers eventually evaporated into this kind of pseudo racism and insecurity about his religious beliefs, none of them had problems solely with his policy. I know that isn't a massive sample size but it was literally 100% of the people I interviewed. So I really do believe that there is a large group of people out there whose problems with the President lie in his race, but jump all over any little thing they can in order to guise there discrimination as concern for the country. I am in no way saying that anyone who is critical of him is a racist, in fact I really don't know where you got that???? I just said this is one more thing that "these pseudo racists" can attempt to use against him and it's a shame cause he really did nothing. I think its really unfair and hyperbolic to say that what I said implies that "anyone" who is critical of Obama is a racist. I really think your way off base.

Well, if Obama deserves one so does Bush because in reality President Obama has pretty much continued the policies of President George W. Bush with regard to the Middle East.
