KholdStare wrote: Thanks alot everyone! I'm starting therapy ASAP. And hahaha at Luke " ass burgers" that's what my mom said also. But anyway, yes I think children with Asperger's should have seperate classrooms because it takes more time to teach children with asperger's and they need a teacher who can fully understand their situation and give them the attention and time they need, because in a regular classroom like you said the teacher will have to take more time to work with one student and this takes time away from the other students, and in most cases if the teacher doesn't know the child has asperger's they just consider the student to be a poor student or one that doesn't listen and this creates stress between the student and teacher. So yes, they do need their own classroom. And I greatly appreciate it Luke, if I have any questions at all I will make sure to contact you!
I think my wife would pay for your plane ticket if you would talk to our local school board.

And you are very welcome KS. If you get any advice that seems fishy or get prescribed medicine that makes you feel a little off, let me know. A second opinion is also always a good idea. My Sister is superb at her job (she's got the cash to prove it) and I'm sure she'll be happy to answer any question you have. Like I said, don't hesitate to ask.

Sorry to hear that. On one hand it's nice to know what you have, but the other hand sucks, because you find out there is something wrong. Best of luck with your treatment!

I disagree. Being diagnosed is great news, it's like having really poor vision your whole life, then someone giving you glasses. His symptoms are treatable, he's going to live a better life. Everyone is different, and if a difference hinders performance, it's great to at least know what it is.

That's what I was saying..It's great to know what you have by definition. The symptoms match, you know what you have to deal with and the necessary treatment...but it sucks to have something to begin with, that a change in diet or some rest can't cure (I know, I've been there). KholdStare has a great/positive outlook and I'm sure will overcome any obstacles.

I'm sorry to hear that you've had it and it was undiagnosed... glad to hear that you have a solution though!

I can only imagine what its like, but don't beat yourself up over it if you have been, because its out of your control. I kinda know how that feels in a sense... I live in connecticut and a few years back I got an odd tick bite on my back, and doctors didn't do anything. Almost two years later I went to the emergency room because I came down with Mononucleosis and they also tested for Lymes Disease, which it turned out I had as well. I was beating myself up because my memory was getting progressively worse and inconsistent, and my joints were degrading, thinking I was just being lazy or stupid etc.

The point is, I'm glad everything is coming to a head and I wish you luck in your recovery! Be strong and don't give up!

Just to inject a little more lightness into the thread... Not nudity (depending on your standards), but definitely not safe for work!

*EDIT

Link removed because a site linked off of it tried to install fake antivirus. My AV caught it, but I dont' want to endanger anyone else. Blargh!

My brother Assman loves joking on me that I have asperger's and that he sleeps with my mom at robo-subs... whatever.

Then one day I found this weird site with an aspie-quiz by some guy who seems really determined to push his neanderthal theory about asperger's.

http://www.rdos.net/eng/

It was a very interesting read. Take it with a grain of salt of course though. But still enjoyable non the less.

Further more, I took the quiz...

My brother had a heyday with it. Then dropped it all together a couple days later and he never picked on me again.

He still says he sleeps with my mom at robo-subs though.

(to note, what I found most interesting on his site was when he talked about program analysis and design the aspie way... that was suspiciously close to home)

I'm about to take the test for funsies, but I'm definitely going to have to take it with a grain of salt since the first question is "Year of Birth?" and the scroll down menu goes as far as back as 1900.

Keep in mind, I took it for funsies as well, but the guy has the quiz available to push his own personal study of his theory. So there are a lot of questions pertaining to statistics (birth date, gender, etc).
