The PS1 version is good but the Load Times between matches pretty much kills it. DC version has an almost perfect load times, I mean compare the arcade version, I almost did not notice the load times on the DC.

The Saturn version is an AWESOME tech demo for the hardware, but I have a hard time saying it is the best. There are fewer characters, and it is very expensive. The DC was pretty awesome, but it is tough to get the super-character downloads now.

Probably the best one for the money is Anthology for the PS2. You get so much for so little money and if you have an older (phat) PS2, you can install it to the HD to have almost non-existent load times. The only thing is that it is NOT HD in any way and will look best if used in S-Video or perhaps composite (this actually goes for all versions). Not a good game for component or rgb - too low rez.

Total Ditto Here. Alpha 2 was so much better from a strategy standpoint, to be able
to do both custom and string combos with the same characters on the fly. Made it tougher
for opponents to guess what was coming. Alpha 2 is as close, in quality of strategy, as Street Fighter Alpha would ever get to King of Fighters.

Alpha/Zero 3 feels like they diluted the actual gameplay for the sake of making the game 'seem' more complex with all the 'isms' non-sense.

Really, the best thing to do is get Alpha 2 (or Gold) and then pick up Street Fighter III: Third Strike. Now that is a good game!!!

Yeah the Isms was the crap thing about Street Fighter Alpha 3.
Also I've noticed no other Street Fighter has been like Alpha 3 in the way the combos juggle nearly infinitely and while a fun fighting game for me didn't feel like Street Fighter in the same way Alpha 2 did.
