I'd like to know what the performance differences are between the versions. I know that the psx versions seems smaller than the dreamcast version they all play really smooth. Unfortunately I havent had a chance to try or even read about the saturn version since it seems pretty rare, all i know is that it utilizes the 4 meg memory upgrade.
I heard a rumor once it was better than even the dreamcast version. Any details?
Street Fighter Zero 3 psx vs saturn vs dc
Re: Street Fighter Zero 3 psx vs saturn vs dc
Well it took me a while to realize what you were saying. Because I don't remember a street fighter zero. Then I remembered that in Japan its called zero not alpha. XD
Any who the Saturn was basically built for 2d fighters it's no surprise it would be better than psx version. However for it to surpass the Dreamcast version it needs that 4mb cart for the frames and load times that the Dreamcast just can't handle. But if you did own a Dreamcast chances are the Street Fighter game you are playing is 3rd strike.
Need more info on it http://www.ex.org/4.2/41-game_sfz3.html
On a side not don't ya think it's weird that it's called zero even though it takes place between Street Fighter 1 and 2?

From what I have heard, the Saturn version is superior. This is mainly because the Saturn version runs in the same res as the arcade version, thus no scaling issues.
Can't really compare any versions personally, as I only have the DC version.

This is the first I'm hearing that the Saturn ver. is better than the dc.
The DC version is GREAT and has tons of extras. I know nothing about the saturn version.

Yeah, I'm sure the DC version is just fine for most everybody, but the truly hardcore SFA3 fans and arcade purists will want the Saturn version.
There is a similar case with Twinkle Star Sprites. While the Dreamcast version is easier to obtain, purists will pay the extra fee for the Saturn version. (I can't remember why the Saturn version is better than the DC version, I just remember it was better.)

I own the DC version and its great,Ive heard the PS version had less frames and longer loading times,so that one isn't good. The Saturn one is the best, extra frames, reverse dramatic battle, and it's rare unless you want to spend extra money to get it and you need a 4-in-1 cart. The DC imo is the best one(if you don't have a lot of $),minimal load times, larger characters, and its close enough to the arcade and Saturn version.

Saturn got the conversion from the original Arcade.
DC got the conversion from the Naomi version of the original Arcade (that's what I've been told). Not the exact same feel, but it featured some nice extras.
PSX version? meh
(sorry for my english)

Is there any reason to get the "zero" versions if you have Alpha 1, 2, & 3?

All three are pretty good in my book.
It's one of the best PS1 2D fighter ports.
Dreamcast has the most features.
