I don,t know what you guys are talking about just go back to the wii menu from paper mario and it will pickup where you left off at least it did for me.

Is Paper Mario some sort of happy exception? Nintendo 64 and NeoGeo games aren't supposed to support this feature. Did you turn off your console after returning to the menu?

I always left my wii on standby but if the power went out I would lose it.
