Well that sucks. Ohwell, my quest continues.

And Pulsar - My old man use to show my family Felix the Cat cartoons on 8mm. They were from the late 20s.

It does prove quite elusive.

Also, some guy claims to have watched the VHS he recorded in 87 side by side with the 5 parts series on the volume 2 dvd and says that it is not edited except for title screens and such. Who knows if that is true or not..but if it is, it wouldn't take much to chop the .avi files together and have your movie.

hmm, I could have sworn there were differences - especially with the 4th episode. But if thats the case I could make it in like fifteen minutes...

All these old cartoons were great back in the day, but which ones still stand up today?

IMO, the only cartoons from my childhood still worth watching are Ren & Stimpy, Rocko's Modern Life, and Animaniacs. From previous generations there's Rocky & Bullwinkle and the old Warner Bros. stuff that's just brilliant.

Kid's today have it pretty great. There's whole networks dedicated to this stuff. Spongebob Squarepants is awesome. I would have died and gone to heaven watching Samurai Jack as a kid. Even Fairly Oddparents is good for a laugh as an adult. Good stuff.
