stuff like dexters lab, doug, rocko's modern life, ren & stimpy, spiderman, mighty max, reboot... I could go on.

flapjack is definitely a worthy new cartoon.

same here dude 1992 - 1999 are my prime cartoon watching years

agreed that flapjack is the only new cartoon worth watching. Cartoon Network and Nickolodian have gone to shit.

Id expand that to Flapjack and Chowder. Both are similar in many aspects. Though Flappy is a better show. Maybe I am swayed by the fact that I know someone like Chowder, and my little brother is like Flapjack...

I was a big fan of the Dungeons & Dragons cartoon (well, I'm not alone, the thing is huge in Brazil, everyone likes it). It's funny that it never had an ending. At least the creators released the script for the ending of the series (envy us, Shenmue fans!).

I used to really like He-man, Thundercats, Ghostbusters and even Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but in retrospect, I don't find those cartoons that enjoyable anymore. The same applies to some anime like Saint Seiya, Shurato, or Ronin Warriors, which I find terrible nowadays.

It surprises me, however, how much I still like comedy cartoons like DuckTales, Pinky and the Brain, Tiny Toons, and even most Cartoon Cartoons. I used to love Dexter's Laboratory and still think it has aged pretty well. I liked Courage the Cowardly Dog, Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken, Sheep in the Big City (which was one of the last I watched)... There was even Samurai Jack, which I always thought was very well crafted cartoon.

With all this talk about retro cartoons I thought some of you might be interested in a tracker I belong to. It is called Cartoon Chaos and has a nice selection of older hard to find stuff. I don't have any invites but you can go to the following thread on the forums there and request one.

http://www.cartoonchaos.org/smf/index.p ... 584.0.html

If you provide proof of ration from a few trackers it is pretty easy to get in. They accepted underground gamer and bitgamer for proof although I submitted a couple others as well. Anyway, I have picked up a couple series here for the kids that I wasn't able to find anywhere else.

Super Samurai Pizza Cats is one I remember watching as a kid. I watch it now and I find jokes that I never would have understood as a kid. Things like the characters breaking the 4th wall I find hilarious now, but went over my head as a kid.

jp1 thats an awesome find. Ill check it later when I get home.

Offhand do you know if they have the first five episodes of Ducktales in the movie form? It was first shown as a tv movie and then cut down for episodic. It is really the strongest part of the series and is easily in the top tier of 80s animation. Ducktales The Treasure of the Golden Sun is what it was called, I think. Ive been looking for it for a decade or so...

There is a movie version available called Treasure of the Lost Lamp...There is also a complete set of the tv series weighing in at 22 GB. And there are 3 seperate DVD9 images only labeled volume 1, 2, and 3.

Nah, the Lost Lamp was the actual film - Christopher Lloyd is the bad guy to boot. I already have the series on dvd, tape, and avi (probably the same avi set), but the first movie form has elluded me for many years. Wikipedia states it exists, so someone out there remembers it aswell so Im not crazy...

It seems there was a japanese laserdisc of it released in movie form. Probably impossible to find as well though.

It does prove quite elusive.
