I think we can all agree that gaming could do with more tentacle demon hentai. And not just in those eroge games that sit in Japan. I'm talking about Tomb Raider: Lara vs. the Tentacle Monster.

I got this and it is really good. Graphics, style and sound are 10's. I love the scale out to overworld map scenes. It reminds me of old mode 7 maps on SNES but in way higher resolution. This really is the best looking game I've played all year.

Gameplay is really good but I haven't gotten to far yet. The second boss ramped up in difficulty for me, but I'm pretty sure it was because I hadn't forged the proper blade. A little annoying backtracking here and there so far, but the background stages changed on the way back so it was a nice view.

This game really is the shit, a new classic.

I'll agree fully. Every complaint I had about Odin Sphere has been solved with Muramasa. The framerate is smooth, the combat is quick and fluid, and the levels are a bit more varied than the simple flat stages of its predecessor.

My copy comes today (complete with wall scroll!) and I can't wait to play it!

But tough decision: play it now, or wait until I get my new plasma TV?

Hmm...

You know, the more I play this, the more I think that the next game Vanillaware should do is a Samurai Jack game. Muramasa plays like how I'd want a game based on Samurai Jack to play.

I just beat this with one of the characters on medium. The ending of the game is scalable, and requires you to beat the game with both characters at least twice to get a complete ending and the most powerful weapons.

I haven't even started the second quest yet but the ending explains depending on which Demon Blade you have equiped the ending will change. Certain blades can only be attained by winning with both characters. Awesome

If you like the idea of new 2D games buy this now. Support the genre on new consoles, this game is amazing I want more.

Let me give a bit more details on the endings and how to get them:

Each character has a first ending. After you get the first ending you get a sword for that character.

Once you've beaten both characters' first ending you can now use all the swords on each character (instead of being restricted to your half of the tree). To get the second ending go to the final boss area and have both swords that you received from the first ending bosses equipped. Your third sword can be any sword you want.

Beating each of the characters' second endings also gets you a sword per character. You also can break white barriers after beating each characters' first ending, and a few of the white challenge areas have swords behind them. Once you receive all the swords you can forge Oboro Muramasa. Equip this sword and go to the final boss area to get each characters' third ending.

The game will helpfully tell you all this after you get an ending for a character. It tells you the next steps to get an ending you haven't seen.

This game makes me want to buy a Wii... I LOVE side-scrolling games like this, and it looks gorgeous to boot.

I've held off on the Wii for quite awhile, but this and Punch-Out!!! are beckoning me.
