I currently view my Wii as a multiplayer only console. Sure there are some good single player games on it, but the console is much more fun with others. So what I would like to see in the next Nintendo console is simply an extension of that. How they are going to do that is the million dollar question. Do they make a dual analog controller that you can sync to the console aswell as your Wiimotes, I don’t know.

Now don’t get me wrong, I would love a new Zelda title, but my gaming time is short nowadays (and will probably be like that for the next few years) so when I get a chance to play I want to enjoy it with others. So I normally choose something like Dokapon Kingdom over Okami.

As for the Virtual Console issue. I only buy multiplayer centric games, ie Mario Kart 64 and Bomberman Blast. I consider it lost money in that I doubt there will be a transfer option to the next console. That said, it is a lot easier for me to just to take a Wii and bag of controllers to a party than to take a N64, TG16, and SNES.

I want there to be some damn games for the thing....... I know the WII has some good ones, but I can't bring myself to pay $250 for a console where 80%ish of the games are shovelware.

I am in a similar situation right now noiseredux. But that just leads me to play more boardgames than videogames.

Though we are shooting for biweekly game nights over the winter so hopefully thatll change.

I never suggested stealing games. Copyright infringement is indeed illegal but it's better (morally speaking) than supporting the current restrictions most download content has. Ideally, the media and gaming companies would give us what we want and then I will be all in favor of buying it. By the way, when it comes to old games, I buy used copies. It's not illegal but the game devs make no money at all from it, so it would be the same thing if I had downloaded some roms.

morals != laws. The reason I can't buy most of today's download content is because I love games and want to see things improve. I own Street Fighter IV and can't pay for the costume DLC because I like Street Fighter. Get it? Maybe If I didn't care that much about games or other people, I wouldn't care about the consequences of my actions, but that's not the case. If 10 years from now, all games are sold online as limited time licenses with no real control or ownership, we will know who's fault it is.

Oh no. We're not doing this again. We've had enough arguments about morality and legality of downloading games. Every time it happens, somebody gets pissed, which results in more folks getting pissed, and more people begin complaining about the attitude problem on the board.

I'm not going to reprimand anyone, and I'm not going to lock the topic, but I am going to throw out a warning to the thread. If this turns into another seven page argument on morals vs. law, I'm locking it and dispensing ass kickings. Got it? Don't even bother referring to this post, just focus on the Wii and what you've been doing with it.

It's a video game forum, guys. Come on.

I thought Nintendo restricted the VC/WiiWare games to the console they were downloaded on. Which mean, if you buy a second Wii... you're (using the OP's favourite word) shit out of luck.

That's right, VC games are tied to the console.
