Next gen Wii. Thoughts.

Post by Lazer »

I am really enjoying the VC. The games look awesome on my HDTV and the price is right. I'm building a nice little collection of games, and getting rid of some physical copies of games I own. However, I worry that my wii will someday die or break and I will lose all my precious games!
Here's what I want: HD WII with hard drive, backwards compatable with all GCN and Wii games, VC that eventually has all old nintendo titles, and an easy way to transfer over (or re-download) all my current VC games. And a wireless controller that rules.
Do you guys think I will get this shit?
Do you guys want this shit, too?

I agree with all of that. I really want a hard drive though. Honestly, some adapter to plug in all of my old game pads for these VC games would be incredible. And I want to see all those Wii games finally in 720p. I think I read somewhere that a lot of them are actually already built in 720p but its only because of the Wii's output that they are in 480p.

I thought I heard of a recent update that allowed VC games to be saved to USB harddrive or thumbdrive or something? I dont remember though?

This whole downloadable game crap has way too many restrictions on it for me to embrace it. I'll keep my carts thanks. They've lasted 20 years and theres no reason they won't last 20 more if taken care of. Plus, carts have a resale value VC games don't. The Wii is lots of fun, but I'll only play disc based games on. I wouldn't sell your carts and replace them with leased VC games. You'll kick yourself in the ass later, I've been there. Just a little friendly advice man, not trying to sound like a dick or nothin.

I agree with corn. There is potential for download games to surpass the cartridge versions, but that has yet to happen. If you pay for the games on VC today, you are ruining it for everyone. Just go download a torrent filled with every 16 bit and earlier game on it. We need to send the message to these companies that we want to own and have total control over the content we download. We want our games to be just like music mp3s from Amazon. DRM free and they will continue to work even if Amazon goes out of business.

Stealing is even worse than that...if you do not agree, just do not buy it..but don't ever consider stealing as an option...
