I hope we aren't ruining ActRaiser for you by over-hyping it. I'll confess, I was unimpressed with it at first, as I was with Super Castlevania IV. However, both grew on me as I played them more-- ActRaiser moreso than Castlevania.Original_Name wrote:Nintendo collection. I'll pick up Contra III for certain as a great 2-player game (as not everyone will be up for a game of Secret of Mana), and then ActRaiser as I've heard nothing but unfaltering praise for it.
Systems: TI-99/4a, Commodore Vic-20, Atari 2600, NES, SMS, GB, Neo Geo MVS (Big Red 4-slot), Genesis, SNES, 3DO, PS1, N64, DC, PS2, GBA, GCN, NDSi, Wii

Alright, so basically I found an old check I hadn't cashed and went ahead and bought Contra III, ActRaiser, Axelay, and most importantly my own Super Nintendo to play them on. So thank you very much everyone, but PLEASE no more suggestions! I've reached the exact limit of what I can amount to things other than necessary funds, and when someone says "ZOMG, what about game X" and I look at gameplay videos of it and go, "MUST OWN." (like I did with Axelay) it just puts the pressure on for me to grab it. Thank you VERY much blackmagepwns, I'm sure I'm gonna love the hell out of Axelay, but please guys: no more!blackmagepwns wrote:You know if you like shooters, get Gradius III and Axelay, truly the best on the system.
F-Zero, is still my favorite racing series of all time, the original is still damn good too.
I love both the Castlevania and MMX series to death, you made a terrific choice.
Contra too, it's rather difficult, but the two player in just about any Contra game is one of the defining moments in any gamer's life.
ActRaiser is also another place you can't go wrong.
Feel free to discuss the games mentioned though, as I find your comments on them very interesting. I never had an SNES until now, so I'm very interested in it; I feel like I missed out on EVERYTHING now that so many of the hardcore gamers proclaim it the greatest system ever, so it's great to finally get into it. Feel free to discuss the games some more, but please don't recommend me any of the games I haven't already bought, which I'll list here for you guys' reference (for my own well-being; not showing off, I promise
ActRaiser
Axelay
Chrono Trigger
Contra III: The Alien Wars
Donkey Kong Country
F-Zero
Final Fantasy III
Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Mega Man X
Secret of Mana
Starfox
Super Castlevania IV
Super Mario All-Stars
Super Mario Kart
Super Mario World
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
Super Metroid
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV
I have a problem.

Not really. It's just that the SNES does have a lot of games considered great, so it can be difficult when first trying to find something worth playing. And truthfully, you've made some great choices in game selection. I too love getting new SNES games, but there is a good deal of garbage on the console. You've managed to avoid all of it. Now the question becomes: what are you going to play first?Original_Name wrote:I have a problem.
And when you do feel like looking into new games, let me know and I'll have a few suggestions. Sound good?

Sounds great, bro!
You'll be my main correspondence on Super Nintendo from here on out. I would make it KholdStare, but all he ever does is repeat, "Earthbound." in perfect monotone.

Haha, in all seriousness I can recommend you some great SNES titles, it's my number one favorite system besides the Dreamcast. If you ever need a second opinion holla at cha boy, I'll be more than happy to help and I promise NO Earthbound. Haha.Original_Name wrote:*slaps five with Ack*Ack wrote:Not really. Hahaha, don't get me wrong, it pains me that I don't have an Earthbound cart to play! I know I'd really enjoy it, but I just can't stretch the $100 price tag. Hahaha, having you just repeat the name of the game will only remind you of my shortcomings! But yeah, I'll give you guys a PM whenever I'm aching for some more of the prettier 16-bit system.
