I'm thinking the same thing. They've basically separated themselves from the accepted expectations for a new console release so they're gonna have their work cut out for them. Playstation and Xbox owners upgrade because they understand the graphical boost and added features, are wii owners going to care about upgrading for better graphics or HD content? They've already pretty much proven that people buying that system aren't interested in those things, and the group that is are probably going to take more of a wait and see approach for nintendo's next system.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Well the way I look at it Nintendo is completely f*cked next generation because the average Joe who buys the Wii is going to ask "Why should I pay another $200+ for the new one when I already have Jeopardy and Bejeweled on the Wii?" Thus none of those casual gamers that Nintendo loves so very much will buy the new thing, and the now alienated "hard core" gamers will not buy the console either because of their lost faith in the company.
That's my opinion anyway, I'm not sure wether I will be proven wrong or right, just my 2 cents.
Of course they've got some time, this will definitely be one of the longest console generations. Microsoft already had the 360 out at this point in the original xbox's lifetime. And unless they pull something out of the blue, we're not getting a new system next year either.
