I'll take your word for that kitty, it does make sense.

It works though and it's ALOT better than trying to catch the disc on boot up cause it's not spinning!

what are the chips you're got? do the work in the litlte PS1s?

Easiest mod chip installation I've ever done was a 6-wire pre-wired one from modchip.ca into a PSOne. Took about 3 minutes.

i have multimode 3 chips (same thing as modchip.ca sells but for some reason they call them stealth elite or something like that) and yeah they work in small PSones
need console mods or repairs? check my thread here:

Could you mod a phat ps2. Thinking about it I should really mod one of my ps2s as then I could play imported and backups for both. How much would you charge to put a modchip in a ps2 (I know it needs to be cleaned cause of the disk reading errors).
