I'm really looking forward to this game. Back in the late 80s, my cousins had the NES and I was stuck with a C4 (which they also had first). They only about 5 games though, one of which was A Boy and His Blob. I'd play that thing for hours!
This new adaptation looks incredible. I'm really looking forward to trying all the new puzzle-solving elements. The jelly bean mechanic just seems tailor made for puzzle gameplay. The one thing I am concerned about, and I hope it is just a product of it being an unfinished version of the game, is that you only seem to have a few different types of jelly beans available at any given time. I can understand that it might be helpful to younger players to only have access to the beans they will need for a level, but I like having to figure out which ones I need to use and how. The big signs with a picture of exactly what you need the blob to do seem a little obvious too. Maybe it is just the introductory levels or something.
Anyway, despite the huge paragraph above, I am psyched about this game. The Wii looks to be getting some good stuff soon!

Re: Gameplay footage for A Boy And His Blob
The original was one of my favorite games on the NES and remains so to this day. I was stoked when I heard an updated version would be released on the DS, and disappointed when it was canceled soon after announcement.
I can't wait for the Wii release in Oct...The trailers look awesome.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.
