Your favorite games that piss you off

Also, Gradius V gets me so angry it's not even funny. I'm able to get to the fifth stage without dying, but somehow Treasure found it funny to litter the screen with asteroids at the boss of the fifth level and forcing you to hide behind them to escape from the shots. It's like choosing between dying eaten by a shark or a lion. The green blobs stage also gets on my nerves.

Gradius V is proof that shmup fans like to get themselves very angry.

I also got Guilty Gear X2 recently. It's my first time playing a Guilty Gear fighter. It was really fun and I thought I was a quick study because in my first sit down I was knocking off characters left and right. I could tell they were getting gradually harder, but then I reached I-No and she has this special move that fills the screen, it kills your health bar if you get hit, and it almost halves it if you block it. If you hit her, it doesn't stop the move. It's infuriating!

Everybody loves Megalomania.

Just remember that the little first part of the attack tells you where the orbs will travel. Just position your character in a part of the screen that doesn't have them. For the 'spread shot' one, I can't remember how I avoided it - probably have to jump over her or something. If that doesn't work, I think I remember the spread shot one not lasting near as long as her other versions, so you may just have to double jump at just the moment before the orbs start flying. (Forgive me, it's been ages since I've played GGXX)

I remember in Dizzy's Story Mode, to get her best ending, you have to kill I-No on your first try. If you lose, that's it. Bad End. Good times to be had there, my friend. Lots of hair-pulling, controller-throwing, rage-screaming and psychotic-laughter to be had.

Now THIS is what makes me angry. Whenever a game forces you to replay the first 90% of it just so that you can get back to the part where you constantly get creamed and can no longer meet the criteria you want, forcing you to start over. It sucks even worse if the games is fun, because then I can't quit.

Yeah, and I get angry if I even die once, because it's a pain trying to get the multiples and powering up again (sometimes the screen scroll doesn't let me get the damn multiples back). Sadist game.

Just about any shmup... I love them so much but they can piss me off to a world ending degree.

Hmm. I'm not the most versed fighting game player but they do really piss me off. SF2 mostly, the SNES versions.

Also - Mario Kart. Uuuuuuh, Rainbow Road.

Pac-Man CE - mostly because the controls seem to break down at the end of a good run because of the high speeds.

BUT I still love all those games.

Command and Conquer: it's just so hard.
Command and Conquer Red Alert: same as above.
Rise Of Nations: same as above.
Advance Wars Dual Strike: same as above.
Civilization Anything: same as above.
Super Mario Bros. 3: World 7 and onwards are just insane. Many rage causing moments here.
Mega Man X: I just can't beat the Launch Octopus stage.
Fallout 1 & 2: I always get to a point were I can't proceed any farther because I'm too low level to fight the remaining enemies in the game.
Age of Empires 2: Same as Civilization.
Donkey Kong Country: once you get to the first factory themed level, it just gets impossible.


Obviously, I'm not too great at RTS games.

well unless you count the first guilty gear which wasn't as hard as the others (but just as fun!)
