In response to the youtube video.
That light combination (3 red semi rings, one blank) is a hardware malfunction usually related to the PSU. Seeing as it was in the same house I am going to assume it was a power problem... as it is a cause that could easily effect every member of the house.
I don't know about all you schmoes out there, but surge protectors are one of the MOST important products to own. And not a cheapy power block with a fuse and switch on it. But a damn quality surge protector.
Like this one right here.
Monster makes more affordable ones (that one is usually 100 bucks), that do the job as well...
but avoid these crap ass 10 dollar things.
I live in Flordia where surge protectors are a MAJOR necessity... you should see the protector, well its called a "conditioner", I have in my bedroom for my computer and sound system.
I don't expect people to own these things. They cost a lot of money (mine was about $500 if I remember correctly). But one of those Monster ones or another in the 50 to 100 dollar range is a huge necessity if you plan on running any of your electronics. Get one... get one now! I bet a lot of you already do. But with out something like that a power surge could easily fry any of your hadware and you would never even know it. Surges happen all day every day.
Here in Florida (one of the highest proned places for power surges) my volatage in my bedroom fluctuates from 105V up to 135V on a daily basis with peaks of 145V - 150V during thunder storms.

Its still better to buy one now for protection puroses.
Microsoft has improved their warrenty and services for all your dead 360's

Even if your 360 warrenty is expired and you need repairs they will give you a 1 year warrenty on your repaired system.
Pretty good.
