i absolutely loved that game (actually....i still do.) i loved being the ninja character that you could unlock.
Last time I remember getting really pissed off was at the battle of the clones at the end of God of War on God Mode.
I thought the first and the second forms of Ares were incredibly easy, but battling the clones in the interlude frustrated me so much I had to wait a couple of hours to get my shit together and defeat them.
Also, Gradius V gets me so angry it's not even funny. I'm able to get to the fifth stage without dying, but somehow Treasure found it funny to litter the screen with asteroids at the boss of the fifth level and forcing you to hide behind them to escape from the shots. It's like choosing between dying eaten by a shark or a lion. The green blobs stage also gets on my nerves.
What else? How about the true last boss of Mushihime-sama? Seriously, that's just ridiculous.

I'd have to say one retro game that immediately comes to mind as one I loved but pissed me off was Target Earth (a.k.a. Assault Suit Leynos) for Genesis. It was a lot of fun but so incredibly hard.
I just happen to find a copy yesterday, so I booted it up. Yup, it's still as freaking hard as I remembered.
Any fighting game. I love them, but god help me I suck ass at them.
Also, any racing game with "rubber band" AI. The Burnout series comes to mind, I love them, but you can't EVER get any kind of margin of victory in any of the races no matter how long you boost or how perfectly you drive. Conversely, if you drive like crap it only takes mere seconds to get back in first (unless you REALLY screw yourself over and over).

All Final Fantasy games, before 12, because of the random battles. I just hate it when I'm trying to solve a puzzle, and every 5 steps I have to spend 2 minutes killing a monster. And specially in the PSone games, 1 of those 2 minutes, is spend loading the damn battle

Elite Beat Agents. The game is really easy until the last two levels. Even on easy mode, the last part of "Jumpin' Jack Flash" is just impossible. I just barely got by it with luck.
I also got Guilty Gear X2 recently. It's my first time playing a Guilty Gear fighter. It was really fun and I thought I was a quick study because in my first sit down I was knocking off characters left and right. I could tell they were getting gradually harder, but then I reached I-No and she has this special move that fills the screen, it kills your health bar if you get hit, and it almost halves it if you block it. If you hit her, it doesn't stop the move. It's infuriating!
