Re: I have to speak my mind about Ebay....
I'm a big ebay fan. It's great having a place with a large inventory of stuff for most things and it's easy to check how much things sold for.
I've gotten sniped before and have turned into a sniper myself. I'll watch a bunch of things and note when they'll close. I'll put my max bid when there's 10 seconds left in the auction. I usually win most of my auctions this way. The other person doesn't have time to react and put in a better bid.

naw man- it is all good. If you are willing to pay more than me and snipe it there is really nothing i can do about it. And hey- all the tools are open to everyone.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:So do you all hate me for using Auction Sniper?
usb ones are still pretty cheap. The expensive ones are the official sega wireless saturn ones, or the PS2 saturn controllers.jp1 wrote:I doubt it. Probably just the special ones for other systems or usb types for pc.

These are hard to get in the states as they weren't released here, however they were released in Europe (not rare, but uncommon as they were released in limited quantities) and Japan (Time to hit up Hashiriya1) where they were manufactured in great quantities and should be easy to find.nickfil wrote:Ebay is weird. Sometimes stuff is super super cheap and goes without bids. Sometimes it goes for a insane amount of money. Like out of your mind crazy. It is a crapshoot.wclem wrote:Second: Jesus people, do you understand bargain shopping.
I got outbid on a pair of official brand sega saturn wireless controllers. They went for 180 bucks. A HUNDRED AN EIGHTY BUCKS! FOR CONTROLLERS!
Here's a review of them from Saturn Junkyard:

EDIT: I've got a pair of official Genesis wireless IR controllers and want to mod them with some nice RF transmitters like this:

Also since the wireless Genesis/Saturn controllers already have a receiver, battery ports and lots of space inside they should end up looking as if nothing's different when it's done.
Now all I need is any kind of technical know-how and the sills to do it.
My Consoles:
Genesis - Nomad - SegaCD - GameGear - Sega Saturn - Dreamcast - NES - SNES - N64 - Gamecube - Wii - Playstation - PSone & LCD - PS2 - PS3 - Xbox - 3DS

Man! Thats insane. I got a pair of thrid party Saturn controllers from a Toys R Us a while back (they were in one of those bargain bins near the register). I did a double take because they were the only controllers in the bin with six buttons (there were also Playstation controllers in there too). And of course I had to buy them because they were going for $7 each. Of course, these were not as good as real Saturn controllers, but for $7, they are a nice back-up if my trusty Japanese Saturn controllers ever kick the bucket.I got outbid on a pair of official brand sega saturn wireless controllers. -Anyways... regarding the original post..
Ebay is definitely a crap shoot. But i like it. It gives me a reason to check my email/ebay if I won the bid. I kinda like it because of that - a bit exciting. If there is a game i want, I usually check the usual groups of online stores that I like, and then I check Ebay. To be honest, the last few times I bought from Ebay, I did the "buy it now" simply because at the time, other online stores were selling the item I wanted for a bit more - and I didnt want to get sniped.
Systems Owned: Saturn, DC, SNES, NES, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, Gamecube, N64, DS, GBA, NEOGEO Pocket

I don't think you can consider sniping an honest way of doing business. Definitely cheating in my book.

I only use Buy It Now on ebay. out of the 60+ things I've gotten on ebay so far only 1 of them has been thru an auction.

losing a auction on something you really want on ebay is one of the worst feelings ever. just thought I'd point that out.

Re: I have to speak my mind about Ebay....
Again: Sniping is not cheating. Using proxy bidding, you'll never be outbid unless somebody pays more than you're willing to.

Maybe its not cheating, but it feels as if you were cheated at the last second.Funk, E wrote:Again: Sniping is not cheating. Using proxy bidding, you'll never be outbid unless somebody pays more than you're willing to.
Its like running a race and some dude jumps out of the bushes with 10 feet to run - steals your number and finishes instead of you. You can fight it with the officials... but you still loose.
