First, do these people have programs that auto bid at 3 seconds remaining? Everytime I try to bid on something someone gets me with 3 seconds to go. Damn it is irritating.
Second: Jesus people, do you understand bargain shopping. I saw a lot of NES games worth about 30 bucks sell for like 80??? Complete Snes games for 200 dollars? Lets be serious people. But then someone buys it, it is just unbelievable. I hope they enjoy there game because they paid for it.
I could have swore I saw a Megaman for NES that was supposedly sealed for like 400 bucks or something stupid like that. I guess I am just wondering if I am the only one who see's Ebay this way. I have begun to really hate it and try not to do business there.

I agree. I understand getting outbid at the last second during certain hours, but I got outbid by someone on many occasions with 3 seconds left at like 3 & 4am, and I was in the same timezone as the winner.wclem wrote:First, do these people have programs that auto bid at 3 seconds remaining? There are auction "sniping" services you can sign up for. You pay a fee and a company will bid at the last second for you. It's dirty stuff.
Agreed about the prices, as they are out of hand on a lot of games. People just want too much for shit, and every game has "RARE!" in the title despite the fact some of them come up in the hundreds on search results.
I try to stick to the BST forum here or Half dot com when buying games these days. Unfortunately, the BST forum here is slowly becoming just a gateway to eBay auctions. It defeats the whole purpose of the forum.

I quit selling on ebay quite a while ago, and now I rarely buy. It seems like its only good for cheap stuff like AV cables, extension cables etc.
I am watching an item right now but I can't talk about it as snipers might be watching...........

I get taken by snipers too.
Now I really just place the highest bid that I'm willing to pay about 10 minutes before closing (or earlier if I won't be able to watch it).

Just bid the highest you are willing to pay for something. If you get sniped then you dont feel bad because you wouldnt pay more than X for that item anyway. I dont see what the big deal on sniping is. I dont use any special program to do it, but I dont usually bid until the last minute because bidding before that just drives up the price.

Re: I have to speak my mind about Ebay....
Bitching about sniping is pointless. eBay has proxy bidding, people--just bid the maximum amount you'd be willing to pay for the item at the start, and it'll automatically bid for you up to that amount.

I'm with Superlarz on that one, and nothing beats the feeling of getting something from under some suckers nose in the last 3 seconds...

I was sniped 3 weeks ago. It was like 3:30 a.m. and I placed a bid on a complete Toe Jam & Earl in the last minute and I was the highest bidder. I lost in the last second. I raged pretty hard...but yeah I don't like doing egay anymore. They overcharge and most of the time the seller never responds.
I bought Chrono Cross and it didn't work so I contacted the seller for a return. I shipped it back to her and she never contacted me again and ignored me 1000 messages. Paypal had to give me a refund and then she messaged me bitching because I gave her negative feedback. That's when I stopped dealing with egay so much...

Ebay is weird. Sometimes stuff is super super cheap and goes without bids. Sometimes it goes for a insane amount of money. Like out of your mind crazy. It is a crapshoot.wclem wrote:Second: Jesus people, do you understand bargain shopping.
I got outbid on a pair of official brand sega saturn wireless controllers. They went for 180 bucks. A HUNDRED AN EIGHTY BUCKS! FOR CONTROLLERS!
