Why don't people talk about this game more?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

So for the first while, you have some trial and error, but then you realize how to pace yourself, because you can only do so much. It makes you prioritize your tasks, more than it hinders you.
I'm not trying to say that it was a bad feature, I'm just saying that the games defining feature (the time), isn't a giant hoopala that will take it out of 'Ocarina of Time's' shadow.
Daniel Primed wrote:I disagree again about the masks - did you read my link?
I don't have much interest in the cultural metaphores. I focus on the "game" part of video games.
Daniel Primed wrote:Firstly the masks allows for a multitude of different skills, particularly in movement
How is this any different than the way that items have opened up new possibilities in the past?
The masks weren't a bad addition, I just see them the same way that I see the hook shot, bow and arrow, and hover boots...not as some astonishing new feature.

Yeah, that's kinda how those people roll.

I would say Return Fire (PS1, PC, and 3DO, I think).

I LOVE that game, but nobody else really seems to heard of it. The only people I have ever heard mention anything about it are all here on racketboy.

Other than that, Jumping Flash for PS1, that game is fun as hell but I rarely ever hear anyone talk about it.
Systems: Atari 2600, Atari Jaguar, NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, Wii, Genesis 3, Genesis 2, 32X, Sega CD (model 2), Saturn (model 1), Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox (Modded), Xbox 360, GameBoy, GBA SP, Game Gear, PSP... always adding more

This time you don't save the world and get a happily ever after, no you by turn of fate get to see it end repeatedly again and again only to have nearly all your progress erased by the deed in it's wake. Simultaneously tortured by the extreme pain of using the very masks that are your one true weapon against the enemy as they contort and disfigure your body into that of another being; stretching and distorting raw flesh and bone into a carbon copy of whichever mask's particular namesake, devoid of any care for your body or the pain it forcibly endures. It torments you as you travel through it's worlds with a languid agonizing tremor transponded through the controller from the TV and into your very hands vith a slight vibration, growing ever more frequent from once every half hour, to every few minutes, every few seconds. Ending in a cacophony of sight, sound and feeling which in the end compells you to abandon your quest and start anew, alone and unprepared for the tremendous task at hand.

No Majora's Mask was not some trivial Zelda title for the masses, it was very much a title for the individual. It made you paranoid of the clock on the screen, it's ever ticking hand seeming to move faster with each second. The deja-vu as you spoke to the same villagers over and over watching as they continued ther routines blissfully oblivious as to your quest.

But perhaps what made it become the least revered and least applauded installment was the fact that in the end it made you feel as though you were responsible for the impending apocalypse, and worst of all completely powerless to stop it...
Slightly Extreme?

Super Mario Bros 3:

Mario travels through a world filled with merciless beings. Each and every creature is out to kill mario, which would put the princess into an endless spiral of depression, causing her to commit suicide. Fortunately he is able to collect power ups from cubes. A feather bonds itself to mario's bone structure, painfully deforming his spine into a tail, flesh grows from it and hair rips through the skin, creating a striped racoon tail. This allows him to fly. He needs these fierce abilities if he wants to save the princess from Bowser, who will most definitely rape her with his gigantic scaley dino dick.

Yeah! I dig that one. Was a great game for the time, and has a place in gaming history as an early 3D platformer. Came out about 2 years before Mario 64. After that, it was totally overshadowed...

Extreme?, Yes. True?, depends on who you talk to.

I've always felt that he 3D Zelda titles succeeded very well in instilling the emotions on the screen to the player on the couch. In the case of Majora, paranoia, fear and claustrophobia; compared to Ocarina, which gave players a sense of adventure, purpose, and triumph.

Was jumping flash 2 good as well? I have the first, it's great. It reminds me of what people always imagined virtual reality being in the early 90s. Weird art deco looking low poly 3D environments that you wander around in first person.

I keep remembering watching Phil Donahue play some virtual reality game on his show. Maybe I can find that video on youtube. . . .

I just picked up Clash at Demonhead on NES today and I can hardly find anything about it. I was a bit surprised because it is a really fun game.

I played this game last year, and i loved it. I remember getting an old OPM back in 2002 or so and one of the demo disk had this game on there. I remember thinking how awesome this was. I thought the game never came out in america and so i forgot about it till last summer when i found out one of the local GS around Raleigh NC had it. I wasnt going to pass it up. I pretty much beat the game last summer within 3 days or so. Its pretty much like playing a giant robot anime video game. Sure the dubbing is about the only bad thing about the game, but that just make it more enjoyable, or at least i think so.

Oh yea, a friend of mine sent me a copy of Shadowrun for genesis to me, its pretty sweet. Ive been looking for a copy of this for the past 6 months. This is about the only website i see a good review on: http://hg101.classicgaming.gamespy.com/ ... dowrun.htm

Try it out if you get a chance...

I liked that one back in the day. If I remember correct, it was made by Vic Tokai. I always liked that company, but they didn't ever make much of a name for themselves. I really loved Golgo 13 though.
