BlazBlue CT - Dedicated Post-Release Impression Thread
Re: BlazBlue CT - Dedicated Post-Release Impression Thread
Noel is very spam friendly. So it's not surprising that you'll see a lot of her. Hit D followed by mashing buttons for the win. I've heard that Nu is also getting a lot of play these days, as people discovered her crazy projectile spam.

Oh yea this game is beast. The story mode is suprisingly good. A lot of stuff crammed into this game. I think I'll play as Hakumen since he is strong and a beastly guy. The fact he has to wait to do specials seems challenging but I'll learn.
P.S. I got my Hori EX2 for Xbox 360 and I'm having trouble with it, it just seems akward. Any tips?

I just got this game the other day or so. It's amazing. Who ever said this game was a bit easier than the Guilty Gear series was right, but it's also much more enjoyable. I decided to use Bang Shishigami as my main. It's taking me some time to get used to him, but his moves aren't the hardest so i should master him soon. I do see a lot of Noel players online and I'm using 360.

Well, I've actually seen a lot more of Jin than any other character. I'd say about 60% of the people I fight online are Jin, about 25% are Noel, 10% are Hakuman, 4.9% are Tager, and 0.1% goes to everybody else except Carl and Litche, who I have never fought against at all.MrPopo wrote:Noel is very spam friendly. I'd believe it that you've never seen those two. Controlling two characters is far more work than any non-hardcore fan is willing to do, and Lichi's style is really weird. It feels like her playing method is to get the staff planted, then combo off of it, occationally bringing it back for pokes. She really doesn't have any specials unless her staff is planted, but it gives range to some of her normals to balance out. And I can't figure out the proper way to use her staff distortion drive. I know there's a way you can use it where it doesn't suck, as the CPU did it to me once.the7k wrote:Well, I've actually seen a lot more of Jin than any other character. Yeah!!! Just played through Ragna and Jin on arcade...
It's good - this is how I would expect a contemporary fighting game to play

It's so much more interesting than SFIV... Playing through Ragna the first time was great fun, almost a breeze - I was basically mashing, with a vague intention to get up close andpress the drive button in the direction of the opponent... did quite well, only a couple of continues, and tried to similarly breeze through a few of the characters (...noel, spam friendly? - just a bit!..hit a brick wall with rachel tho...) but then I watched some of the bonus disk and started to think about Ragna's special moves and combos etc... and my playing went down the shitter. It's taken a good couple of hours to learn how to play this one character so that I'm now better than my original button mashing self, and it's got me wanting to learn and develop my technique with the others to a similar level, and then start over again and improve them all - it's just so much interesting and mentally stimulating than playing Ryu again or putting a half-assed effort into learning a more generic fighter (like, i dunno... anything 3D).

After playing online for a bit, I can say the two boss characters (Nu and Hakumen) are very overused. I played a guy with Hakumen and every time I beat him he would yell "Fucking Hakumen, all des niggas be usin' him". Needless to say I started cracking up. A lot of rachel users and Arakune users are surfacing too. No Bang though
, maybe I'll master him just to screw with people and catch him off guard. Now that I think about it playing with an underused character is a good idea because people will not know how to react. Ok kinda went on a rant there srry.
I'd also like to comment on the arrogancy of the Xbox LIVE community (don't know what it's like over on PSN). There have been many instances where I've been kicked because of my low level. I mean come on, it's a damn players match, what the hell do you care. Just toss me around to practice combos. Who knows, it could be Daigo and he just got the game. Meh
.
Overall the online is great and has a pretty intuitive setup. The 6 player rooms feel like the real deal. Once I get my metagame down hopefully me you'll see me on the leaderboards!
