I have a question for you guys! Are you guys actually people who enjoy playing games? Or, do you guys just buy and resale video game related items? It seems that a lot of people here just buy and resale games on this forum. The Oddest thing I have seen is the people who want every single game that was ported to a particular system, even if that game is horrible. I know my initial post seems like I want to flip the item, but I want the system because I never had the opportunity to own a Sega CD.

No, no, my point was that he couldn't tell if people on this site even like video games or if they just resell them to make a buck. That's a slap in the face if you ask me.

Once a day is fair, with this forum normally once something gets to page 2...its no longer forsale. The community here isnt that huge in the BST, AND 90% of people here bump when they add items or change prices.

Looking at the BST first page, I see that the last item has a date of 6pm, 2 days ago. That's not very old. If you haven't read the forum in a while, I could see one going to page 2 or page 3 to look for something.

My bumping complaint has to do with folks not adding new items or reducing their prices.

i agree the ebay links should be put into a single sticky thread. i've seen this on sega-16 and it nicely reduces forum clutter. and i guess just have the mods move those stray posts into there? or rather, make it a sub-forum in the b/s/t, as in a folder. actually i think THIS is what sega-16 has...

i agree bumping a b/s/t thread daily is excessive. imagine if everyone did that! it would be chaotic. once a week is generally what i have been doing for the past 3 years i've been selling on the forums, because i believe it's good enough for everyone. when i look to buy things myself, i generally look on just the first page. i figure anything not interesting enough to stay there isn't worth my time. as for bumping and not updating items or prices, i don't find that to be a big deal, but maybe that's because i do that myself. people tend to forget to look on page 2 and beyond, even if they saw something interesting before. those types of people account for roughly 25% of my buyers

i think 5-10 posts to be able to start a new thread is a good idea not only to combat ebay link-only type people, but also to combat spam! just an idea.

i'm not sure if this could be done, but i think it would be a cool idea if racket's store could be posted as a little signature link at the bottom of each post in the b/s/t. i think that's quite fair... kinda like advertisement signatures used in free email services like yahoo or hotmail. racket might be selling stuff better and/or cheaper than some of the people on the forum anyway, ya know?

I'm certainly guilty of bumping my bst thread without any kind of update but I dont think its a huge problem. I feel that there are enough new members or other people that may be seeing my thread for the first time (even if other members have already seen it a thousand) that I dont need have a specific reason to bump the thread other than to get more exposure. Usually the only time I do this though is when my thread gets to the second page, every other bump is for an update.

As for inforcing other rules to reduce the amount of ebay spam, Id say either a 7 day wait period from when you join to when you can make your own thread would do wonders, that or a small post count requirement.

I certainly echo this - I usually bump when I update (change items and/or prices) or when my list gets to page 2. I find that I rarely get any PMs if it moves to page 2, but get them frequently when the list is still on the 1st page (even if I haven't made many changes).
