I just got through Raiden Fighter Aces. Fairy is total hax, especially if you save up a couple of bombs for the boss. And the Slave is also pretty nuts, since you can deal a lot of damage while being out of range of most fire thanks to the spread.

Picked up Layer Selection/Galactic Attack yesterday. Great game. I like it a lot better than the Ray series. The concept works much better in 2D.

I found out quite recently that MESS can play cassette dumps (as WAV files), so I decided to see if I could dump my very first shmup and play it. It's been a quarter of a century since I last played that game!

Ive grown weary of all the decisions I have to make as to which shmup im going to play on mame and settled back down with my secret lover on my ps2 (she's currently kicking my ass for leaving her alone for so many days ). I expect to be playing my new copy of dodonpachi with my brand new neo geo pad 2 TOMORROW and cant freaking wait.

Playing Omega Five on 360 atm. It's a really beautiful SHMUP. Very similar to forgotten worlds in gameplay. The controls take a bit of getting used to, but it provides plenty of challenge and wonderful gameplay.
