I've been trying to find girlfriend friendly games,
Rock band is a no brainer she loves it
The first 3 marios, sonics seem to work.
Side scrollers or puzzle games.
She watches me when I play FF3(snes, US)
I may introduce her to Secret of Mana
So my suggestion would be older games. snes sega era

Re: Gaming blog--"Gaming With the Mrs."
My wife hates videogames. I've been trying to get her to play different things, but only a few have had any success. Most games she wants to turn off within 10 seconds, literally, which means they have to be instantly satisfying in some way. So far she has seemed to enjoy Super Monkey Ball for Wii, Guitar Hero, Space Channel 5, Pump It Up, Buzz! The Movie Quiz, and Antigrav. Still, she only plays them when I bring it up.
I have better luck with the board games. We play Lost Cities a lot and she loves Rummikub. She also loves trivia, so she enjoys games like Trivial Pursuit and Scene It. I bought Settlers of Catan and Carcasson, but I can't get her to play those because it means we won't be playing Rummikub. If she's going to play a game, she usually wants it to be that one.

My wife likes Lost Cities and REALLY likes Rummikub. Those are two games I'll be reviewing in the weeks to come. She is interested in Guitar Hero and that's on my list o' games to buy. I can't get her into Space Channel 5, though!
I see another vote for Baldur's Gate: DA. It looks like I'll have to find that bad boy and try it out at some point.

Rummikub is a favorite with my family, but my GF really loves scrabble. I just have to try not to beat her that often.
Baldur's Gate: DA was one of the first games I played when I got my Xbox. My GF enjoyed watching me play Grandia II, Skies of Arcadia, and Shenmue on the dreamcast. Neither of us particularly liked Dark Alliance.
We mostly stick to the more accessible RPGs and Adventure games. We just finished Dark Cloud 2, which was a cute and fun RPG.

Be careful what you wish for. My wife doesn't like to game for the most part. But if I mention the Burnout series or various puzzle games (Tetris, Puyo, Puzzle Fighter, etc) I won't be able to touch whichever system is involved for days.
Re: Gaming blog--"Gaming With the Mrs."
Well the good thing about dungeons crawls over RPGs is you can play them together instead of her just watching you play an rpg.
Re: Gaming blog--"Gaming With the Mrs."
As a fiance I play lots of games with my Mr. We play a lot of sonic games (our current is Knuckles Chaotix for the 32x) and pass the controller on levels and death. When we want to burn time we play party games like sonic shuffle or mario party, and when we want to battle we play fighting games and racing games. We do sometime play tetris and other puzzle games but mostly platformers.
Systems: Famicom with Nes adapter, Turbo Grafx, JVC x' Eye, Super Famicom with SNES adapter, 32x, Virtual Boy, Saturn, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, X-Box, PS1/PS2 (slim), Gamecube with game boy player, Wii, PS3 80 gig
Handhelds: Neo-Geo pocket color, PSP, Game boy Advance SP, Game Gear, Tec Toy (Mega drive portable) Playpal (Master system/game gear)
Capcom Arcade Machine (Speed Rumbler,1986)

My wife played the Wii-Ware version of Dr. Mario forever. She had something like 2000 wins online by the time she quit cold turkey.
Lately she's been playing Guitar Hero. I, however, hate Guitar Hero with every ounce of my being. Being the wonderful and supportive husband that I am, I was able to put aside my hatred of the game for the sake of her enjoyment, however.

Ya know what, I think you guys have accomplished enough. Give it a fucking rest. You have women that not only like you, but will live with you. Women don't like traditional video games. Just walk already. You win. You don't have to conquer all my dreams, and taunt me with their remains.

Yeah, if Mario Kart is all they like then I'd rather just let them gossip about how cute their kids are or something...Mozgus wrote:Ya know what, I think you guys have accomplished enough.
