I agree as well. I think that the technology is definitely interesting, I just don't feel like it's a very good idea. EVERYONE was wowed with Natal. Video Gamers and especially Non gamers. What I fear is that if Natal becomes as ludicrously successful as the Wii was with their remote, then everyone else will start supporting the movement for motion control, or at least much more casual games to satisfy the interest in technology like Natal. Or even major producers thinking that they could open up their Ips to even bigger audiences by making them "motion" compatible, or more casual. I'm not sure if I'm getting my thoughts across clearly. Basically I'm saying that I feel that things like Natal, IPhone games, and the Wii are dooming video games and turning it's focus on everyone other than gamers. ( I don't mean to say the Wii itself, just referring to it's wonderful library of shovelware.)MrEco wrote:YES! I completely agree!Gamerforlife wrote:Worse thing about E3? That new controller-free, motion control thing Microsoft is putting out. Seriously, are we even playing video games anymore? Now you speak and move your body to play. Geez, might as well just give me a virtual reality simulator like we saw in Star Trek or Minority Report. I know I should be more open minded and I know some people will love this, but it just looks...odd to me. Like we're moving away from what video games are. Realistic gameplay is something I am always pushing for, but when I have to actually move my body to simulate what my avatar does...well hell, I might as well just go outside and do something REAL. They showed one player sitting on a couch moving her arms like she was moving a real stearing wheel and moving her feet to control the gas and breaks. Um, can't I just go outside and get in my real car and do that?
Ugh, stupid casual gamers. Learn how to use a control for crissakes. It's not that hard.

Sony's motion controller is the best thing, now we don't have to complain about the Wii's lack of "real" games, Sony is here to make it all good and right. I guess after playing Galaxy, NMH, Zack&Wiki , and some gamecube exclusives its time to sell that big disappointment the Wii is.
Also I am glad to hear more psx games, but I want a a ps3 that plays ps1/ps2 100% .
ironically, I have 360/wii but no ps3.
I am not sure why a lot of you are upset about Natal. Personally I think that is great.
A lot of you seem to think that motion control games are only motion control. I am thinking its more like
the new analogue. Its another option, and this applies to all consoles. Plus some games are perfect using motion controls specially sports, like using your hands to hold a bat is 100% better than pushing a button.
I think they are here to co-exist not to replace each other. But Microsoft definitely has to put some kind vibration device on the player just to get a feeling of the game.
Videogames are all about interaction, nothing is really happening its a virtual world, so you do it by using a button or waving your hand, its the same.
Though I do not think a time will come where we see it called a "game" when you have to play something like street fighter using pure motion controls. Its better to be a real martial art trainee , but it can be a lot of fun for a martial art fighter or a gym. I guess futuristic electronic gyms are finally here.

I'm glad about the new Metroid and Golden Sun DS.
Re: Your favourite E3 announcement...!
'Mario Galaxy 2' has pleased me infact alot of what Nintendo put out made me happy, 'Other M', ' Cursed Mountain' 'Sin and Punishment 2' and a western release for 'Tatsunoko' and 'Fragile' are exciting.
Elsewhere, 'Golden Sun DS' 'Uncharted 2' 'Red Dead Redemption' and 'God Of War III' All look like must plays.
Being a Castlevania fan I'm a little disappointed at the retrofit of 'Lords Of Darkness' and the lack of Iga involvement, although it does beg the question what Is Iga up to? That picture of Alucard was leaked and Iga himself confirmed it was Alucard, but no Alucard in 'Lords Of Darkness' I was hoping for a Hi-res 2D Metroidvania... Perhaps I'll still get one

The Last Guardian
God of War III
Castlevania (doesn't really seem like Castlevania, but looks like a good combo of two of my favorites - Shadow of the Colossus and God of War)

i must say im not. I much preferred the days where a game was more likely to star some anthropomorphic woodland creature or furry pink fuzzball blob thing with the power to turn things into cocoon which erupt into a pile of random power ups (Or something along those lines) than seeing every xbox game on a shelf having some big muscular and ANGRY man staring out of the box holding either a gun, or some sort of sporting equipment. Brown is just not as enticing a colour as pink or green or blue or yellow to me. I want more surreal!
Surely the market has to expand somehow though. if the market doesnt spread, the industry dies. If always target the same audience, then that audience is going to only shrink, as people get bored and leave, but newcomers arent welcomed in because of it being too specifically marketed. Maybe i just misunderstood you though, you did say you werent sure if you were being clear.(-_-) wrote:

Lastly, im excited by both the new mario games, sina nd punishment 2, scribblenauts, golden sun DS. Project Natal interests me, but i feel its false promises atm, and nothing more. The ps3 motion control seems nice, but rather pointless, i can't imagine it catching on with the price point of the PSP plus the peripherals. Team ICO project will be sweet but i dont have PS3. the new PSP looks ugly :S

Because waving our arms around like brain-dead apes isn't appealing. I am most excited for Golden Sun DS. I'm a fanboy.Funk, E wrote:Wait, why is it bad to try and search out innovative new control mechanics?

What are you talking about? The best announcements at E3 were for the Wii, 2d side scrolling 4 player Mario Bros, Mario Galaxy 2, Monkey Island Tales, new Boy and his Blob and a new Metroid.kingmohd84 wrote:Sony's motion controller is the best thing, now we don't have to complain about the Wii's lack of "real" games, Sony is here to make it all good and right. Personally...I felt the best announcement at E3 was that Alan Wake still exists...but maybe that's just me.

He really does. It's a shame his wife seems like a condescending jerk who essentially called her husband a loser in "King of Kong". Of course making judgements based on a reality film isn't the smartest thing I've ever done.Gamerforlife wrote:Thumbs up to Steve Wiebe getting a kill screen.
