I used to play Parsec, Hopper, MunchMan, Car Wars, and Connect Four for hours. I also used to do some BASIC programming with it. I fondly remember typing for hours - often copying BASIC code from the back of a magazine (like the 3-2-1 Contact Magazine) and ending up with a few dots moving around the screen and beeping. I thought it was awesome. Anyway, here's some good stuff I found:

The Classic99 Emulator with 10 or so built in games:

Lots of additional ROMS:

Any other former (or current?!) TI-99 users?
There's (was) a 3-2-1 Contact Magazine? Really? Wow. I used to watch that show.

Oh yeah, the TI-99 was my first ever game console. It's sitting in a box in my parents basement somewhere. I'll get it out when I move back to my home country of the great white north.

I used a TI99 for a short time in school. Parsec was the only game I got to play on it back then, but now I see there is a Car Wars game - Must have. I was more of an Adam Coleco guy back then. I prefer my computers to erase all magnetic media in the drive when you turn it on...

That just made me laugh. I wasn't aware of this, so I went to check the wikipedia entry, and it is even worse - it seems the manuals of the Adam instructed the users to put the tape in before turning the computer on!

Sad aint it? My families copy of Buck Rodgers and the Planet of Zoom was lost to such a pulse - it was on a data cassette. I loved that game and sadly I could not make it run on mame satisfactory the last time I tried. Ill just dedicate tonight to it.
