I like A Link To The Past, but I always though Link's Awakening was better. I felt that it flowed much better, and the island setting was perfect for a Zelda game.

Can you expand on this? I believe that they are all very identical games. The only real thing that changes is your point of view.

Love the classic top down gameplay, for some reason I always ignored all the gameboy releases, but I just got minish cap and I really need to pick the game boy color titles as soon as I get some cash.

I've played though A Link to the Past several times. Contrast this with every other Zelda I've played, where I get bored and stop playing.

I've played Zelda 1, 2, Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess - and never even beat them. To me, they just couldn't hold me the way Zelda 3 did.

Oh wait - I did beat Link's Awakening. So, I guess that means there are only two Zelda games that held me long enough for me to beat them. I'll attribute Link's Awakening to it being portable, and it being a pain in the ass to carry extra Gameboy carts around.

I can't compare this to any other Zeldas because this is the first one I ever played. So which Zelda is your favorite?
I'm not sure what my favorite is, but I feel like Zelda 1, 2, Link's Awakening, OoT, Wind Waker are all better games then LttP.

LTTP was my favorite for a long time, but Link's Awakening and Twilight Princess (GCN version) now rank higher on my list.

Actually, now when I think about it... I like Wind Waker, Minish Cap and Four Swords Adventures more than LTTP as well. I guess LTTP fell far from the throne for me. :?

I've played through Link to the Past 2 or 3 times. I can't remember why, but I recently popped the cart into my SNES to find out that my saves were erased. That alone almost gave me the compulsive incentive to play through the game again (just to get that completed save file back!). Now reading this thread... now I really want to.

I was almost about to pop the game in and start playing right now, but then I remembered, duh, I've gotta replace the battery first! Totally don't feel like doing that right now.

The first Zelda was the only other I played through and beat. I'll play OoT one day, I swear, as I do own it. I also have Zelda II, Wind Waker and Twilight but it might be a while before I ever care to play one of those.

I agree with what Ack said about that sense of accomplishment. When I first pulled the Master Sword out of the stone -- that was quite a moment. One of my favorites in all of gaming. And then to find out what really lay ahead ... wow. I love LTTP, but haven't played through it in years. I should correct that .... Possible Together Retro entry?

In the game, you have 4 bottles. What do you fill them up with? I usually have two fairies, 1 life medicine, and 1 magic medicine.
4 Bees
I'm that hardcore

1 fairy, 2 magic, 1 life

This is by far in my top 3 of fav games of all time. I've played through it at least 6 times if not more. Was one of the first games i got for SNES and the first game i got for my Game Boy SP. Love it.
