Re: My PS2 collection

A lot of good multiplatform games that are 'missing' from my collection is due to me owning them on Xbox. It's a little confusing and I've been tempted lately just to get them for the sake of having a more rounded collection.

I really should post up my xbox collection. It's nowhere near as large as my PS2 collection (soon to be over 100 titles!).

A lot of my xbox games consist of SNK/Capcom fighters as I prefer playing them on the xbox due to having an arcade stick for it and I feel they play a bit smoother.

When I get access to a decent digital camera I'm going to whip out my entire collection for you to drool over.

I think I'm going to get the PS2 version of MGS2:Substance then.

I need to find some good shmups that were released in PAL. The only ones I've come across are R-type and Gradius :(.

I've also got my eye on the good kim possible game.

As far as SHMUPS on the PS2, the only one I've played is Silpheed: The Lost Planet, and I really wouldn't recommend it. It's an extremely barebones title, especially when compared to the earlier incarnations.
the7k wrote:My PS2 collection is kinda piddly right now. Granted, there isn't a stinker in my PS2 collection at all, but it could use some bulking up.

At this point, I've just given up on a stickerless collection. I'm just happy to have the games, though I do need to print up a couple of labels again. I need a new Indigo Prophecy case(old one got water damaged).

:) I'm pretty sure I made that post, or at least one along those lines - but it was the Plant chapter, not the tanker. Sorry to hear about your memory card and disc being messed up as well.

Ok, well, since you're not too worried about the Metacritic scores, I'd like to suggest Way of the Samurai and Siren. Way of the Samurai was a pretty fun game, though it does have its issues, and Siren is easily one of the most difficult survival horror games ever made, so if you want to get your ass handed to you a few times, it's worth a go.

Nice call, I too loved Way of the Samurai and Siren. I loved how there were tons of endings and secret weapons in WotS, and Siren is one of the few genuinely creepy games I've ever played.

Oh yeah, and I said I don't have a 'stinker', not 'sticker'. I am anal about stickers, but I do have a few - it's kinda inevitable.

Poop. I remembered it as the Tanker and didn't bother to watch through the cutscenes for a date. OH well... It made me want to 100% MGS2 again.

Also, has anyone played the Siren for ps3? What exactly is it and what's it most similar to gameplay wise? Is it a remake of the ps2 one or a sequal of sorts? I remember playing the demo for it very briefly and not liking it even though the survival horrors (especially with the tank controls) are among my favourite games.

I discovered that lighter fluid will remove almost any sticker. I've even managed to remove those big blockbuster stickers they put on the backs of the actual game inserts and manuals off with lighter fluid, without leaving any damage. :!:

Had a big haul of PS2 games yesterday, Game was selling off a lot of PS2 games at 3 for £5. I snagged 9 games for £15 and then had a £2.50 reward at the counter so I basically got them all for £12.50. £1.38 a game isn't to be sniffed at really.

The games I got in that deal were:

The Warriors
Armored Core 3
Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi
Jak X
Ridge Racer V
Gunbird: Special Edition
Red Faction
Timesplitters
The Bouncer

Some I just got to fill out my collection whereas some were genuinely wanted games IE Timesplitters, Red Faction, Ridge Racer V, Gunbird and The Warriors. They were all in very good condition too, with only Ridge Racer V having a slight dent on the back of the case.

Other games I got yesterday were:
Yakuza 2 mint £15
Shin Megami Tensei: Lucifers Call (only £5!)

Sonic 3 mint for £1
Crimson Skies mint £3.50

Whups, forgot to mention that I also got Gungrave: Overdose for £3 purely because they couldn't find the original's game and manual despite having the empty box on shelf. They gave me the sequel same price as Gungrave would have cost. Bit of a shame about them not having it though. I'm sure I'll come across another copy at some point though.

Still hunting for a PAL version of Fire Pro Wrestling Returns. If anyone has one, I will be very interested in buying. It's a shame we don't get many (if at all) Italians on this site (to date the only PAL region FPW:R has been released in is Italy).

If you have any decent games in PAL not on this list then I will be interested in buying. Looking mostly for stuff that is on Racket's hidden gems list
