My understanding is Final Fight 3 is the only game in the series that holds up at all against any of the Streets of Rage games. But that doesn't mean there isn't fun to be had in Final Fight 2. Just temper your expectations.Note wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2026 11:21 am Final Fight 2 (SNES) - As a beat 'em up fan, I've been meaning to get this cart for a number of years, but I hadn't come across it in good shape. Glad to finally have this one and complete the Final Fight trilogy on SNES! Curious about how others feel about this one.

Re: Games Acquired 2026
Personally, I actually like Final Fight 2 quite a bit. It's been a while, but the last time I played through it, I remember actually enjoying it more than most of the Streets of Rage games.
Re: Games Acquired 2026
This week I got Zelda: The Minish Cap and Wario Ware Twisted for the GBA. I love the GBA. It's a console I never got back in the day (although I had a lot of friends who had them), so I am really enjoying getting into it now. I completed both Metroid Zero Mission and Metroid Fusion right at the start of the year and thought both were incredible.
Unfortunately Minish Cap is just a loose cart, but it's just a game I wanted to play through (never played it before and I am a huge Zelda fan) and it saves me a lot of money. Wario Ware Twisted is complete and in lovely condition, but it's the Japanese version which again saved me a ton of money.
I also picked up The Ninja for the Master System.

Markies' Games Acquired List Of 2026!
1. Mario Pinball Land (GBA)
2. Ys: The Ark of Napishtim (PS2)
3. Giga Wing 2 (SDC)
4. Pokemon Yellow (GBC)

I added Pokemon Yellow for the Nintendo GameBoy this evening!
And with that, I now own all of the North American Generation 1 Pokemon games. I started with Pokemon Red as I had that when I was a teenager. I got Pokemon Blue recently and I played through that one last year. Now, I own Pokemon Yellow. I have actually never played this one and I am curious to see what it is like. Obviously, there aren't radical changes, but it is always a great time to play through a Pokemon game. Also, this will making catching all of them much easier to do when I get around to it.

Splurged on the Switch 2 port of Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered yesterday while it was still 15 bucks marked down from 30.
Re: Games Acquired 2026
I have picked up 3 new GBA games this week. I got Golden Sun, as I am a fan of Camelot's games and this is a series I have never played. I am looking forward to starting it once I have finished up Minish Cap. I also picked up loose carts of Kurukuru Kururin and Kururin Paradise. I find the first one really addictive, so it has been one I have wanted to get for a while. I have never played any of the sequels, so I am looking forward to trying Paradise.

Re: Games Acquired 2026
I got Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Tour this week. It's a great version of the classic. I am really enjoying the World Tour mode, although it's a shame that they pretend Quest mode was never a thing now.
Speaking of Virtua Fighter, I am genuinely surprised that with the recent popularity in fighting collections (or modern retro collections in general) that we haven't had a Virtua Fighter collection released yet. I guess the inclusion of various VF games in the Like A Dragon/Yakuza series has made it less appealing, but I'd still quite like a collection of the arcade versions of VF1-4 along with maybe some bonus games and other things, like the anime. If they included some of the home releases like 4 Evolution on PS2 too, that would be amazing.

Re: Games Acquired 2026
I got a loose copy of Lilo and Stitch for the Game Boy Advance. It's a bit of a random pick up, but I am buying all sorts for the system at the moment and it looks like a fun Metal Slug clone.

How is VF5 on Switch 2? I'm very tempted by it...
