Apparently, the Gamecube version is not nearly as bad bug-wise as the Nintendo DS version, though I've never played it.

I haven't played the gamecube version in about a year, so my memory is fuzzy. As I am sure you recall, the format of the game is generally run around and either kill all of the baddies or flip switches to trigger events that allow you to move further in the level. Unfortunately, sometimes in the gamecube version, killing all of the baddies did not always trigger the events it was supposed to. This happened to me occasionally.

Also, in the "Escape from Cloud City" level (I don't remember it's exact title, but you go through cloud city before finally escaping in the Millennium Falcon), there was a very annoying bug at the very end that I encountered more than once. At some point, if you were controlling R2, you could fly over to the platform where the Falcon waited early. But, you then still had to fly back so that you could go flip all of the switches to extend the walkway to that platform. I don't remember what I did, but I did it more than once and it resulted in the Millennium Falcon's doors not opening, so I could go through the entire level and not be able to finish.

On the other cloud city level, the one where you have to rebuild C3PO, there were problems there as well. If you stopped building while he was partially constructed, you often could not finish him. There was another problem with that room, but I don't remember what it was.

Also, on the Tattooine level where you could find a hidden carwash and put Luke's landspeeder through it, I regularly managed to encounter problems. A couple of times, I think I hit a button at the wrong time or something in that area and things got stuck. I think once I ended up with a player stuck in the middle of the landspeeder, unable to move.

Actually, I recall having characters get stuck in walls and stuff pretty regularly.

Oh absolutely Quest for Glory IV is notoriously buggy. It's also brilliantly written and beautifully produced. Real shame they couldn't spend a little more time fixing it up.
Of course, it's not really a console game.

I'm stuck in the middle of Fahrenheit on the Xbox. Nothing I do can get me past the helicopter scene. I've pounded on those triggers until my fingers just about fall off and nothing. Real frustrating, it's an awesome game.

The first Matrix game they came out with crashed halfway through the game with one of the characters, making it impossible to finish. To my knowledge they never went back and fixed it (not that it mattered given how crappy the game was).

And i think it was Impossible Mission for the Atari 7800. They left out a key item that you needed to open a door near the end, so the game was true to its word, it really was impossible.

Anybody remember the name of that trucking game that came out about...five years ago, the one that was still in Alpha when they released it? The AI for the other players never kicks in, so they never leave the starting line, there are hills that you can drive through, and you can't actually win any of the races because a finish line was never programmed in.

Hands down: Far Cry Vengeance on the Wii.

Remember on PS2 games the cut scenes would look much better than the in game graphics? Ever heard of a game where the cut scenes actually look WORSE than the in game graphics? Well now you have! FCV looks like a some what below average PS2 game, and the cut scenes look bad for N64's standards.

Let me just paint a picture of my experience. I have the first Far Cry for the PC and I liked it. I am aware that PC FPS that get a console version often suck (like Call of Duty for example) but my friend played a Far Cry for XBox and like it. So, I just got my Wii and I wanted to get some games for it. So I'm in Wal Mart and I see FCV in the case, perfect game to get. Then I get home and pop that game in and the previous paragraph is my first impression of the game.

But aside from the horrible graphics, the game also had horrible bugs and what not. While playing I would often encounter bugs where it feels like the game skipped, if you know what I mean. I think the worst glitch I experienced was when I took this route that I shouldn't have (there was a path that went up hill, I was swimming in the water that ran along side it). Thing was, at the top of the hill there was a check point, but I was in the water and tripped that checkpoint then the game froze. I would reset the console and load the checkpoint but then the game would freeze again a few seconds after it loaded. I could even back out of there! I ended up having to restart the level, which sucks because those levels are pretty long.

My question is "Why?" Why would you make a game like this? I emailed Ubisoft because at the time, I was curious is Wii games could get update patches. They replied with something along the lines of "If you were experiencing trouble playing the game take it back to the store and get a new one." So I reply with something like, "Did you even read my questions? There's nothing wrong with my game disc, its your crappy game that's full of bugs. I just want to know if there will ever be any fixes released." Then I got a reply with the same response as before but it said at the end that if I don't reply to the email in x amount of time the case will be considered solved in the achieve. Is that standard company policy? "Now, our game isn't full of bugs and glitches that even cause lockups, it must be your game disc even though it's brand new. Take it back to the store and get another one, so you can waste your time going there just to have the same game play experience you already have."

I thought Mortal Kombat Advance was the buggy game ever. As far as I remember Superman 64 wasn't buggy just a piece of dung game ...

We can't forget about the Pirates of the Caribbean game for the Xbox. A wonderful game (I think it was really just Sea Dogs 2 with PotC stuff slapped on top), but buggy as hell. How about gamestopping bugs that also wipe all of your saves, too? Nice.

I believe that this adequately describes what the developers were aiming for with that shitsplosion of a game:
