Yeah, I haven't watched it either. It sounds like Attitude Era/Vince Russo style booking from what I read and not in a good way. I am not sure why they went that route. Maybe they thought the more "sports entertainment" story driven match between MJF and Cole worked at All In, so they should continue doing stuff like that with MJF? This just sounded silly though.

MJF had a tag match on the pre-show, but got "injured", so Adam Cole - who has a broken ankle, is injured, isn't even cleared to wrestle and so couldn't do the tag match MJF just got injured in - is going to take his place? Ermmm ok.

And then of course it is a swerve, MJF makes sure he does the match with his "serious injury" and beats Jay White along with the Guns who interfere? Hos does anyone look good coming out of this? To top it off, MJF dives onto White onto the ground unprotected after the table spot botched and the table broke too early, actually giving himself a legitimate injury.

I am not really a big fan of storylines playing out over PPVs anyways. Yes, matches should tell a story and they should end a story, maybe start a new story in rare occurrences, but actually booking a PPV like it's one of your weekly TV shows is a bit silly imo.

At least the Swerve and Hangman match is already being spoken of as possibly one of the company's best matches this year, if not ever. Admittedly, I am skeptical. Both guys are capable of incredible matches and have already proven that much before (their feud is great), but those ultra violent matches just aren't for me. I thought it was cool when I was an edgy teenager and I'd watch ECW tapes at a friend's house. Not so much now.

Ah well, I have mostly come to terms with the fact that AEW will just be wildly inconsistent. Hopefully World's End next month will be better. It's rumoured Samoa Joe will be MJF's opponent.

I also don't understand why Cassidy had to hit Moxley with his finisher like 7 times to beat him. Is Mox John "Super" Cena now? I'm starting to get some bad WWE memories now

Edge is a savage. He did a conchairto on an innocent child right in front of his mother and father tonight! That deplorable monster!

You know it's sad. We get some great matches from the women in AEW, but I just don't care. I'm not into most of the characters. I'm not into the stories, the booking. There used to be a joke about the women segments being piss breaks that I think people used to make about WWE. I feel that way about AEW now. I literally switched channels to an airing of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story during all of the women's stuff on Dynamite tonight. I just don't give a shit about Rubo Soho's stupid new romance story line (you gotta be desperate to find her attractive). I don't care about the goth girl teens Skye Blue and Julia Hart. I don't care about that fucking idiot Toni Storm. And AEW has zero joshi love these days. I can't wait to see how they fuck up Rhonda Rousey in ROH. To be fair though, her last run in WWE wasn't exactly lighting the world on fire either.

With Tam Nakano and Natsupoi gone from Stardom for the foreseeable future, WWE is the only place giving me decent stuff involving women in wrestling right now. They're doing good stuff on the main roster with a lot of ladies, particularly Rhea Ripley, and NXT has an absurd amount of female talent right now. It actually feels like an equal playing field for the men and the women in WWE, though I do find it a bit irritating that no one can touch Ripley when she repeatedly puts her hands on the men and does whatever the hell she wants to them. Double standards. I guess they're afraid of pissing off all of their corporate interests (sponsors, shareholders, TV network execs, etc.)

Whatever happened to Jack Perry? I seem to remember some reports coming out a month or two ago that he is no longer suspended, but they are just waiting for the heat to die down.

Maybe he is the devil haha. If he is, I hope he leans in hard on it. Wind up Punk fans and those who thought Punk might be the guy under the devil mask. Don't run away from the CM Punk controversy, revel in it. He should cut a promo where he says "I'm the man who retired CM Punk with just two words". Make people think Punk might be under the mask when the big reveal happens and then reveal himself. In terms of storyline, it would kind of make sense after MJF's promos to him earlier this year.

I only think he should revel in the Punk stuff if he is the devil though. If he isn't, then just ignore it and move on.

I don't miss Jack Perry to be honest. I thought he was "alright" as a mid carder and when he was really over with the crowds, but he got really stale quite quickly. He sucks as a face and he sucks as a heel. He just has no charisma and is poor on the mic. He was definitely the weakest link in that four pillars storyline earlier this year. But if they reveal him to he the devil, then maybe they could make it work.

I've always been willing to cut Perry some slack because I could tell he was a work in progress. He was learning. He was one of AEW's younger talents and he would get better over time. You have to give the younger guys some slack especially considering that AEW doesn't have anything as good as NXT for grooming younger talent. Your complaints about him could be said about Darby Allin too quite honestly. MJF and Sammy Guevarra have shown the most potential out of the four pillars in my opinion.

I think Perry was doing okay as a heel, he was gradually started to find his groove. I think him leaning into the Punk thing is EXACTLY what they should do. I agree 100%. Only bad thing with that though is that it's a kayfabe breaking thing and won't make sense to people who don't follow dirt sheets.

They could also feud him with Nick Wayne since Nick has taken the spot he once had with Christian. Christian could do a great promo about Perry finally becoming the man Christian envisioned him to be since Perry is a heel now and maybe even turn on Nick. I'm just considering different possibilities. Hell, you could pair Perry with Edge. I think Edge is going heel though. Maybe Christian, Edge, Nick, Luchasaurus, and Perry could become a faction. Have them run roughshod over AEW. That could be fun. Put ALL the titles on them.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing Samoa Joe take the title off MJF. He's so good right now.

Yeah, I did think about that, but since Tony Khan addressed the firing live on television, it's not exactly breaking kayfabe, since they already merged the news of Punk's firing with what they showed on television. I get it's a stretch though and I know what you mean though. Equally though, I can see the company also wanting to just move on from Punk and not mention him again.

Edit: Ok, I completely missed that we heard the devil laugh on Dynamite and people are already speculating that the laugh sounded like Jack Perry. I just watched the clip and can kind of see what people mean. It's hard to tell though.

Same. He comes across as such an unstoppable force in the ring. I don't think AEW have really had anyone like that, have they? I suppose Wardlow came close.

I am not really sure what AEW's plans are, but I would like to see Samoa Joe as champion. I think they maybe wanted to keep the championship on MJF during this whole "MJF's contract is coming up" bidding war angle.

Some of the pro wrestling figures out there are great. I don't have any, but as something of a casual action figure collector I feel like adding some to my collection this Christmas. Some of them are hilarious, like Sammy Guevara's

Yeah, going back a few years, I really wanted to get some wrestling figures. I never gotten around to it though and don't really have the space now. Both WWE and AEW have some cool sets. I want the Hook figure, Sting would be iconic, Orange Cassidy obviously and the Punk and MJF dog collar set looks bad ass.

I just bought the series 8 Orange Cassidy off of ringsidecollectibles (with a figure defender to protect the box)

This one is amazing. It's the WWE Elite Network Spotlight Asuka
