REPO Man wrote::D Bought a new projector. It was $120 marked down from $150 and that's BEFORE the 50% off coupon that led to it costing $65 after taxes.

And before you ask, it does 4K while my old one doesn't. It can also apparently project onto a screen of up to 200". Of course I'm sticking with my 100" screen.
Every time I think about buying a projector, I remember that I have a 50-inch television that was an unthinkable home screen size for most of my life.

At risk of being a downer, at $150 original MSRP it's probably not 4K native. It probably just means that it can support a 4K source and then outputs its native resolution. Dimly.

It 100% does not do 4k, I am familiar with the exact type of projector you are talking about and they are perfectly fine and project somewhere between 720-1080p (on the lower side). I watched all my TV on one of those for like two years at my apartment.

Do you think “And before you ask” is on a macro? (Also, nobody is going to ask.)

I feel a ChatGPT training project coming on…

The output resolution is 1920x1080.

Just as long as I can play 4K Blu-rays on my PS5 while connecting it to the projector with a 100 inch screen, I can live with that.

Also, ICYMI my brother STILL got put weeks ago, having a hard time finding a place and taking it day by day.

The PS5 should be able to output 1080 from a 4k source.

My library is going to be making a huge digital infrastructure migration over the course of the next couple years, and yesterday I co-moderated a Q&A session with a couple folks who have already made this jump. We got some great insight (a little of which was contradicted by some advice from another corner of the internet, but I believe there's contextual reasons for this) and I think we all feel quite a bit better prepared. I mean, our consortium is 117 libraries strong and we're all making this move together. It's not a project to sneeze at.

You got this, Maru! :>

In Pidge news, I got confirmation a little while ago (well, as much confirmation as we can have in times like these) that my partner will be able to visit me this coming spring! After I had a visit last spring break, I thought for sure it'd be another two years before I could have my partner over again, but circumstances have changed to the point where she can visit me this March! So excited! ^w^

:( I'm pretty sure I have covid again. Both my kids have had it recently. The kids are mostly over it and I just have a sore throat and minor cough.
