I'm not familiar with this one. The only two I know about in Seattle are the Pink Godzilla in the International District ($25 for Mega Man 6 is fail) and that small store on the Ave in the Uni District. I've found a decent number of reasonably priced games at that latter.

ebay prices aren't always too bad, as long as he skips shipping should be ok sometimes. At least you guys have a retro game shop in seattle. There is no wild at all in miami apparently I've been looking for awhile.

There has got to be a ton of thrift and pawn shops in miami.

I've thought about telling my local game store about www.vgpc.com but I know sometimes I get more than I should on a trade in just because they're not familiar with the item or they will go by amazon.com prices. I got $10 in trade for a SMS light gun, which seemed pretty high.

There are. Pawn shops usually only carry jewelry and thrifts are very clothes heavy the few that had videogames no longer do.

The same thing hapenned to me when we moved. Up in Jersey there were piles of retro everywhere, but here in NC you'd be surprised if you can even find PS1.

The store I'm talking about is on Aurora. The sign looks like a Game Stop because it has the same red font style, but it's actually called Game Town or something like that. Big Al's on the Ave usually has decent selection, but the deals are variable. They do have a lot of good deals in the bins, but they have a specialty cabinet where they sell the rare stuff (Ico, Marvel VS Capcom, Suikodens, Vagrant Story, etc). at jacked up prices. There is also 2nd Time Around on the Ave, which is lacking in selection usually, but has good prices, plus if your disc looks a bit roughed up, the guy at the counter will usually take it down a few bucks without you even having to ask for that.

The best place for deals out here though is the Game Crazy on the Bothell Highway. They had a deal going for awhile where PS2 and Xbox games were 2 for $5 bucks. Lots of hidden gems were in there too. My collection increased greatly during that time.

I actually had that same experience. I walked in and found a ton of XBox and PS2 games plus like 10 NES games and a couple Gameboy/gamegear games. They had no price on them, so I asked about them. The guy said (in a very raspy, cigarette smoke filled voice) 10 dollars each. I looked one more time and noticed all the Xbox/ps2 games were Madden and junk. I thought he may have only meant those games so I asked about the old Nintendo (I never feel like I can say their real names I always say Atari, Sega, Nintendo, instead of 2600, Genesis, NES) games. He said they were 10 dollars. I asked why and he said they were hard to find these days. I was like wtf?! I calmly told him to search on Ebay where he will find like 8 of them for 10 dollars. Then I walked out.

I've been with a friend of mine who picked up BOFIV for $5 because the store manager priced games by the year they came out. On the other hand, the closest pawn shop to me has a very weathered, very used copy of Mega Man 2 for $25.

I've also noticed a large number of shops that charge too much for Mario Bros 3. But, on the other hand... I got MGS3:Subsistence Limited Edition for $10 at a pawn shop. So I think it more than balances out.
Same with stores like FYE. I can usually find new games, still sealed, for pretty cheap. The trade-off is, of course, that most of the games are crap, and you're lucky to find a good one. One time, I found a sealed copy of Everquest Online for the PS2 for 1 penny! I didn't play it; but it's cool to have, just to say I got it for so cheap!

I just decided to visit a lot of Pawn Shops around my area, seeing as I haven't been in one in so long... man, what a waste of time. Going to 5 different pawn shops, the only games I could find that were worth anything at all were Colony Wars, Metal Gear Solid 3 and Deus Ex: The Conspiracy - all of which were $10.

Like I said, complete waste of time. They were even charging $10 for NES and SNES games. I thought the point of a store was to move product - no one is going to buy a copy of Madden '99 for $10.

Even still, I have to look. You never know when you'll hit the jackpot.
