Raptor and the Touhous - namely Perfect Cherry Blossom which I feel is the epitome of a fantasy vert.

Currently, Touhou 6 (Embodiment of Scarlet Devil) and Touhou 9 (Phantasmagoria of Flower View) are my favourites, though I also play a little Ether Vapour on the side every now and then.

But Ether Vapour doesn't have Cirno, and eye like Cirno. She is the smartest in all of Gensokyo!

"Things from Space" on a "Spy Fox 2" disk was one of the first Schmups I ever played and is still enjoyable to this day. Play through the first boring (But quick) 7 levels and you've got yourself a cartoony schmup of high quality.
