Together Retro December 2021 - Camelot on the Spot
Re: Together Retro December 2021 - Camelot on the Spot
So my final part was Arthur, Lisa, Akane, and Melody. I can cast Support twice a turn and had access to Aura 3 on two of them and Aura 4 on a third. It was a stupid amount of healing, and Melody gets an item in the final dungeon that restores 4 MP a turn. The second to last boss can clear buffs, but the final boss cannot. So my boss fighting strategy was cast Support 2 on Lisa and Melody so I'm very much outspeeding the boss and nerfing physical attacks to almost nothing. Should a boss clear it I can just double cast again. Arthur gets Attack in the late game and I used that on the final boss a couple times so he hit like a mack truck. But it was basically just trading blows and group healing every turn. I found that magic damage just doesn't scale into the late game against bosses (or hell, even regular fights). Outside of a special spell Arthur gets that costs 40/60 MP, magic damage caps at about 100 per target. Meanwhile, your basic attacks on your fighting classes are doing 100+ on a regular swing and 200-300 on special attacks.

Awesome, thanks for the advice.
Ok, so I now have 2 more mitrill ingots - who should I make stuff for and what should I aim for?
I used the first one and made a mitrill claw for Doyle, now I'm wondering what else may be equivalent to use the other 2 ingots for.

The best weapons for Melody and Forte are ones you can make from mithril ingots. I’d highly recommend trying for a Fuma Helmet for Akane too, as it gives you a couple of mp back every turn too.
Otherwise, you mostly just want armour for people.

You can also forge a Masamune for Akane and Rodi. There's a better weapon that can be farmed off of an absolute HP sponge of an enemy in the last dungeon, and it doesn't have a good drop rate.
I ended up using my ingots somewhat haphazardly; I reloaded for the Mythril Claw and Masamune and then let the dice give me a couple of Dragon Suits. They are very non-critical in the grand scheme of things.

I'm in the mines again ready to finish the game. Spent over two hours today fighting the spiked dragons hoping for that sword to drop for Arkane. No drop, but my core team is around level 26+ which should be good to run the rest of the game.

Yeah, I didn't bother going for that sword because I got the non-cursed mithril weapon for her and that was a sufficient upgrade. Not like she'll do any attacking against the bosses at the end.

The sword is worth it, but not necessary for sure. I got it and Akane one shot mobs about 50% of the time. This works against the monsters that accompany both final bosses too, and made my life easier for sure.

Shining the Holy Ark has been beaten. The final boss Panzer was pretty easy when I stopped overthinking it.
I finished with Arthur at level 29. I found 94% of items and logged just over 50 hours.
Oh, I did get the last Spike Dragon that I fought right before the last minecart to drop Arkane's sword. So I didn't get to do much with it... but I got it.

Just want to give everyone an update on my game status in Shining the Holy Ark!
I'm about 28 hours in and just completed revisiting the Enrich Dungeon, in which you get Forte as a party member at the end. My party up to this point was Arthur, Rodi, Basso, and Melody. However, I think I'm going to switch Basso for Akane moving forward. Forte is a bit behind at level 15. My other characters are promoted and at level 5, except Akane who is at level 2. I spent a fair amount of time grinding earlier in the game, so I think the rest of the game going forward should be a bit easier, but I may spend a little more time grinding to try to level Akane.
Don't think I'll be able to finish the game by the end of this month, but hopefully I can finish it up in January!

Thats awesome. Once I was able to make a Mitrill Claw for Doyle, he Arkane & Basso were my main party - swapping Melody in for boss battles for Basso.
