Yeah, looks that way. The SNES controller appears to have a USB-C port that you could charge it with. But the NES controller mimic the JoyCons more, and they don't have USB so it looks like connecting them to the Switch is the only way to charge them. That is, unless there's some 3rd party charging solution that would work. I've heard they're too big for most charging docks since the JoyCons are smaller.
