How I feel about Gamecube! YEAH!

lol ok not really, There seems to be a lot of retroactive love for Gamecube. When I got it for Christmas 2001 it was an awesome day and loved Luigi's Mansion and Crazy Taxi. I will always have fond memories of that day. I must say tho overall, I'm just indifferent to the system. Has some games I do greatly enjoy yes. Just as a system to love, it never fully clicked with me. I don't dislike it either. Just kinda meh.

I think Diablo III is way better with a controller as well. Using the right analog stick to dodge stuff is fantastic.
I could see that. I intend to try it too as the game is confirmed for Nintendo Switch. I have it for PC so I ended up just using the classic D2 style mouse/keyboard setup.

It may be reality but as consoles have turned into computers, more and more games I've seen feel and play notably more comfortable using a controller with dual analogs than the traditional mouse/keyboard combo that has been hot stuff since like Quake 1 appeared 20 years ago. I think it's a dynamic shift to pander to the console market as so many more console games are going in better form to Steam and in cases GoG too so it's like a side effect it's dragging the old PC greats new sequels into this trench too. DOOM (2016) for me plays more comfortably using a controller than the mouse and keyboard as well.

Segata that still is both a grating and amusing GIF though. :D I think it's a mix of retroactive love, and just the fact that the games have aged so well and it has many unique titles both just Nintendo controlled that system only had, and then some lovely Dreamcast hand offs (like Skies of Arcadia and Ikaruga.) I get the system never really won you or lost you, but I am curious what all games you played on there that were unique offerings?

I played it m/kb on PC but console adds the right analog roll and it's so much better that way.

Direction precision just isn't the same with analog sticks, that and I've been playing those style of games for 20 years m&k, it is too ingrained.

It's ingrained in me too, but when it came at least just to DOOM 2016, M&K felt overly twitchy even on default settings so I had a better time aiming on my Switch which still confuses me why but it does. I started playing it on PC, found the other better, so I erased it on the PC as it was a waste of space now (but being Steam I can put it back whenever.)

I really didn't care for Goldeneye but really loved The World is Not Enough on N64 and to this day impressed how that game graphically looks on N64.

I liked the Gamecube Bond games more than Goldeneye, especially Everything or Nothing.

Oh I gotta know the reasoning behind it! Not because I think you are crazy, but because I am fascinated!

There's no deep meaning I just thought they were funner games and Everything or Nothing was an excellent third person shooter for its time. I also enjoyed the original stories.

Goldeneye never hit home with me as a PC gamer. I had fun playing it with friends but it wasn't that genre defining game for me like it was for a great many gamers.
