I don't even get the attitude. I've seen it too. Mostly on Facebook.Segata wrote:See a lot of people complaining about ports coming to Switch. Do people not remember the PS4 in 2014? It was a port machine. While it still gets them it balanced itself with newer games. Switch will balance itself out with time. It's not even a year old yet.
1. Absolutely. The PS4 was full of ports and so was the PS3. Hell, it's nothing new; It happened with the Dreamcast too (loads of PS1/N64 ports on there).
2. No one's holding a gun to your head and making you buy the game. Take it or leave it. Either you want it, or you don't, because you've already played it and you can't justify double dipping or you haven't, but you refuse to buy it, because of the stigma of it being an 'old' game (which is dumb, if you ask me). It doesn't matter.
3. No, it doesn't take "scarce" or "valuable" resources away from creating new games.
4. Not everyone has owned these games before or even neccessarily the console previously required to play them.
5. This is a portable console, which means it's offering a new experience and new opportunities.
The whole argument is dumb to me. It's great having the opportunity to have all these great games on one console. I can't be arsed connecting my Wii U any more. The console is clunky, I don't have it connected anymore, so if I can get some of my favourite Wii U games on the Switch, then I will. If they're too pricey or I can't justify spending the money, then I won't bother. Who cares?
