Bwaha! I'm glad that's all it is, since I'll probably never do it.

... Rolling Stone?

Looks like a good read though. I need to know more about this guy.

I really think a sequel or more with this guy and his team are all but guaranteed at this point. Highest rated Sonic game in what, decade(s)? And the Steam score would more than likely be Overwhelmingly Positive if it wasn't for DRM, even then it's been cemented in Mostly Positive and at 3,500 scores and counting, the purchased numbers are probably quadrupling Sonic the Hedgehog 4.

BUT... it is Sega. I don't want to jinx it though.

He mentions a love of a number of other largely abandoned Sega franchises. I'd much rather see he and his team take on some of those. Maybe we'd get another gem of a classic kind.

I'm not surprised since Mania is chalk full of references. Even a boss that has tons of Shinobi sound effects.

I am ready for Streets of Rage Mania.

I'm about done with my Tails run of Mania and still can't believe how good this game is. I'm literally talking to myself out loud in bursts having so much fun with this and being blown away by how cool things are or look. This is like a Zelda level religious experience for me and I feel like a kid again.

Going for the gold medals in Blue Sphere is fun now, since I have nothing to lose after getting all the silver medals.

No, I think most of the areas you can get up to with his flying are probably reachable via other normal paths. His flying makes half the bosses a cake walk. I think Blue Sphere is a little easier with him too, since he's not red or blue. It was still a blast and despite not having a companion like Sonic + Tails, kind of felt like easy mode haha. I had like 44 lives, though it was my second run so I was more prepared for everything.

I still noticed a few walls that look like breakable walls for Knuckles, so I wonder if some of the levels have parts more tailored for him that are actually different. I'll do a run with him next and then solo Sonic.

Jeff Gerstmann was bashing the Sonic 3 & Knuckles sprite at the Giant Bomb PAX panel haha. I think he's right and I prefer the sprite for 1, 2, and CD, and I'm glad Mania went more for that look:

I'm doing a run through with Knuckles, but I'm not too far to confirm myself, however I have read that Knuckles has lots of areas only accessible to him, making his play through different. I'm sure I also read that one of the zones (or maybe it's just one act)) is entirely different and made just for Knuckles.

Yeah sonic 3 sprite looks like he was eating one too many chili dogs and super mad about it.
