The last two pre-orders were for AAA games from my end. 1, 2, Switch! and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild because Amazon Prime gives huge discounts.
People can pre-order sixty dollar games if they know they want it day one...especially with Amazon Prime. You get almost $15 off on them Why wouldn't you!?

That seems like a rather extreme overreaction.Segata wrote:Please stop derailing.
Or a mod lock the topic. Jesus sorry I even made it.
You need to stop letting little things set you off. A few people sharing their opinions on pre-ordering on a thread about pre-ordering games is hardly derailing.
You can love to pre-order stuff or you can hate it. You do not need your opinion on pre-ordering validated by an Internet forum. Nobody cares how you spend your own money.

Nothing has ever set me off on this forum. Again you never seen me angry, only slightly frustrated when I blocked BMF. I know you think you have but it goes back to the mental health topic where people think they read me and I think I read them but neither have. Esp in text. It's just you expect people to follow a simple topic and typically in 90% of forums heavily derailing a thread is typically against TOS.

We're a discussion heavy forum. We like to discuss.
I'm just asking you to try and not take things so personally. People saying they don't like to pre-order games at full price were not making any judgement against you.

Just something to consider. Amazon Prime we know has the 20% off up to two weeks AFTER launch, but in either case if you do not unwrap the game you can hold onto it for awhile and then just return it. They don't charge until they ship. No harm, no foul one way or the other.PartridgeSenpai wrote: I'm not sure pre-ordering as a whole is completely bad. Some things are really worth pre-ordering because otherwise you almost certainly won't be able to get one otherwise.
I just don't like the idea of paying money down on something you have no idea of the quality of. I'd rather wait until after launch and opinions and videos are well and out there to know whether or not a game is worth picking up or not in the first place.
Set it up to get, find out it's a steaming pile days into it being for sale, send it back sealed and you're set. You lose nothing, they pay for the return sticker.

Also, although it doesn't require a pre-order, Best Buy's Gamer's Club Unlocked gives a 20% discount on any new game, at any time. It's a pretty sweet deal. (Of course, as always, you want to make sure they're not overcharging on older titles...)

This. Maybe you're not angry, but when you start typing stuff is large, red font, it definitely comes across that way. Take a chill pill, Bill. Just let the motion of the ocean (of discussion) rock and roll you, brah.Gunstar Green wrote:We're a discussion heavy forum. We like to discuss.

In fact, the only place where we really police thread derailment is in people's BST topics. Everywhere else we just let things flow as they naturally do.Gunstar Green wrote:We're a discussion heavy forum. We like to discuss.

Did you know in psychology the worst thing you can do to a person who seems stressed is to tell them to chill or calm down? It creates the opposite reaction in people. Not that I am stressed but it's a note you should make for the future.ElkinFencer10 wrote:This. I'm no psychologist. If you need to chill, I'll probably tell you to chill. How you react is on you.
