I uh pre-ordered some awesome upcoming PS4 games this week. PS4 just has too many games this year it hurts but I love it.

I do not pre order AAA games. Usually niche games to show support early. Nintendo games as they never come down in price. None of the ones in OP did I have to put money down. None of these did I pay 60 bucks for. 2 of them are below 20 bucks.

Pre-ordering is bad.

Yeah... $60 for games that will be $20 in a few months? I'll pass. Not to mention the fact that I don't own a PS4, Xbone, or Switch.

I used to go crazy with my pre-orders, as I'm sure everyone here knows QUITE well. I've tried to limit myself to pre-ordering games that I either REALLY want, are from developers that I really want to support, or are for a system that I especially want to support (Wii U, Switch, and Vita, namely).

Pre-ordering is just fine if you know it's a game you're going to pick up at launch. I do this with games from my favorite series, like Dragon Quest, or with rarer games than need support to stay afloat.

Or Nintendo games. Seriously, you might as well just get Zelda games at launch, it takes years for them to hit the $20 mark.

That being said, unless it's a series you really love, pre-ordering AAA games is where it's a bad idea. Those are pretty much guaranteed to bottom out fairly quickly.

Yeah, or if you love a multiplayer focused game and want to be on the ground floor before people disappear. My wife and I usually wing it and end up still getting the game at launch. It also is part of the adventure!

Dunno, you see some quick drops on games released around Black Friday / Christmas as well. Seems like there have been other games that drop as quickly, too, at least for a bit. I do hope it's not a sign the game is doing badly, it's awesome by all accounts.

They got a general point preordering is pretty bad in many cases as the prices in months drop and hard. But if you end up buying for a certain system, publisher, or developer/publisher which is hardcore into not discounting, it's a good idea.

Nintendo rarely lowers prices unless they over produced a bomb (like Elite Beat Agents went from $30 to $10 in months) or never unless a Selects title hits 3-4 years later.

I've used Prime to get 20% off on Switch games otherwise I've not bothered. Every game but one I got on the system came through there for the discount.

That first post has Sina More EX listed for PS4, it's also Switch confirmed too for $30 and with that cut it's down to $24. Totally worth it. They bother to date it I think I may just do it, and I'm flip flopping on doing it with Cave Story. I'm pretty tempted to just sell the unused 3DS one I have off since it's an original w/that 3D sleeve to cover it and then some a little. :)

Oh for fucks sake you guys turning nothing into something. None of those were 60 bucks. I don't pre order AAA games. Sine Mora EX is 17 dollars with Prime. 20 bucks without. Battle Chasers is from Darksiders creator Joe Mad...and again 17 dollars with prime. Raiden V is 40 bucks but is the limited first print run that comes with the CD. The 360 version sometimes costs more than that now. Gundam I got with Prime discount. I pre order smaller niche games to support them. Nintendo as well since they stay full price forever.

Now can you all stop derailing please?
