It'll be the most glorious of train wrecks.

You guys need to have some more discussion about this game. There are multiple pathways through this game and multiple endings, including one "secret" one that really isn't that hard to stumble across relatively early in the game. I have beaten the game legit, non-emulated, through to most of the endings, but one did regularly shut me down. So while the game is definitely hard and definitely worthy, the path you take will affect just how hard the game is. IMO, the secret ending should not count. But I'm also not a judge, so seek guidance. You will also find the different characters massively change the play experience as well, and one of them is a bit easier that the others (and yet still not easy at all).Exhuminator wrote:Beating the USA version of that game fair and square... I seemed to have forgotten that rule when I was typing that post. Thanks for the suggestions, I'm not great at judging difficulty of games I'm not familiar with by myself. I couldn't find many discussions for games on those two systems that are generally considered hard, and I would've had a lot more trouble if I tried to look to just pre-2007 games (although I'm still interested in hearing opinions on hard Wii/DS post-2007 games even if I won't be able to play them for the challenge).Exhuminator wrote:I'd love for you to join the challenge, but keep in mind all of your picks must be at least ten years old. I can help you come up with some challenging DS and Wii games that are that old. That means 2007 and back:
I assure you, the 2007 and older DS/Wii games I listed are challenging.Raz wrote:Thanks for the suggestions, I'm not great at judging difficulty of games I'm not familiar with by myself.
Many folks considered the DS and Wii "casual" systems during their heyday, so I think some might be surprised at the considerable amount of challenging (or even hardcore) games that exist in their libraries. I think this would be a great idea for a new thread, but I don't want to derail this one pursuing that topic now.Raz wrote:I'm still interested in hearing opinions on hard Wii/DS post-2007 games even if I won't be able to play them for the challenge
Actraiser 2 (SNES) - I'm pretty sure the judges approved this already = Yes, it's approved across the board.Raz wrote:list

This thread moves too fast--. Yeah, I've got three approved:Exhuminator wrote:As far as registered participants go, I think at this point we're waiting on:

I find it interesting you though this was tough. I actually thought the difficulty in the game was overexaggerated myself :SExhuminator wrote: *Second Opinion on Wii is still challenging, but it's a remake of the original Trauma Center on DS. The original Trauma Center on DS is much harder than the rebalanced Wii remake. If you are looking for the harder challenge of the two, go with the DS original. Trust me, I beat that game... the last "boss" is about as hardcore as DS ever gets.
YES to all 3 from me.dunpeal2064 wrote:I'm down for this.

I'll put you down for the Sega CD version of Ecco. If you decide to change that to the Genesis version, that's cool too. It's up to you which version you want to play. And with that, I'll update the OP to reflect your complete registration. Thanks for playing!pierrot wrote:Yeah, I've got three approved:
Ecco the Dolphin (not sure which version, though. I'd probably prefer the Sega CD version if it were deemed copacetic.)
Xanadu (Saturn)
Umihara Kawase (SFC)
Trauma Center on DS overall wasn't too bad, but the final boss is ridiculous. I was able to beat it, but the difficulty spike for that last boss was off the charts. I have not had nearly as much aggravation with any of the other games in the series. (I've beaten Trauma Center 1, Trauma Center 2, TC: New Blood, Trauma Team, and played some of Second Opinion.) It makes me sad that Atlus isn't making any more of these. Although I understand why, as Trauma Team bombed terribly. A crying shame because Trauma Team is one of top 10 best Wii games.alienjesus wrote:I find it interesting you though this was tough.
I give a YES to all of those as well, and since Dsh already YES'd them too, you're golden. I will update the OP to reflect your complete registration. Thanks for playing!dunpeal2064 wrote:I'm down for this.
